Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, project management, or a related commercial role in critical infrastructure, electrical construction, telecommunications, broadband, power systems, or a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading project execution teams and delivering projects profitably, to specification, and on time.
  • Demonstrated success developing customer relationships and converting opportunities into profitable bookings.
  • Experience preparing estimates, reviewing specifications, and developing proposals for technically complex projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • CRM and pipeline-management discipline is required.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the Northeast region for customer meetings, site visits, and internal coordination.
  • Ability to safely access active job sites and customer facilities, including walking, climbing, standing for extended periods, and lifting materials or equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in office, home-office, and field environments.
  • A criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and motor vehicle record review are required.
Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed annual sales, revenue, and operating profit goals for the Northeast region.
  • Act as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned Northeast accounts.
  • Develop and execute a regional sales plan that expands the company’s presence with existing customers and targeted new accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, engineers, owners, and other decision-makers in critical infrastructure markets.
  • Pursue new opportunities through direct prospecting, relationship development, and coordination with internal business development resources.
  • Maintain geographic coverage across the assigned territory through customer visits, site visits, and market-facing activity.
  • Support specification development efforts with customers and engineers so the company is positioned early in project opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, capability discussions, and solution-oriented sales messaging.
  • Review bid documents, engineered specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to develop scopes, estimates, quotations, and proposals.
  • Consult with engineers, vendors, and internal subject-matter experts to clarify scope, technical requirements, and equipment selections before submission.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and commercial inputs for pipeline planning and opportunity review.
  • Coordinate proposal turnaround to meet customer deadlines while protecting scope clarity, margin, and execution feasibility.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, quote-log, forecast, and account-activity data in the company’s business-tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with finance and legal on contracts, payment terms, commercial risk items, and deal-structuring requirements.
  • Assemble complete handoff packages for awarded work, including scope documents, contracts, estimates, schedules of values, drawings, quotes, and key customer contacts.
  • Partner with critical infrastructure project managers and operations leaders to transition awarded work to execution.
  • Lead and develop project managers and direct-current installers to execute projects on time and on budget and deliver a strong customer experience.
  • Ensure complete job handoffs to field execution teams for high-quality and profitable execution.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to increase productivity, reduce lead times, and improve project quality.
  • Conduct weekly operations meetings with project managers to review and drive accountability for key performance indicators, job performance, timelines, and resource scheduling and utilization.
  • Drive safety culture and ensure the team adopts and complies with company safety policies.
  • Coordinate with finance to ensure jobs are costed accurately, billed timely, and updated for forecasted cost at completion.
  • Remain engaged after award to support customer alignment, scope clarification, issue resolution, and strategic account continuity.
  • Assist with customer issue resolution and de-escalate disputes while protecting customer relationships and company interests.
  • Support disciplined review of scope changes and commercial adjustments.
  • Present a professional image to customers, suppliers, and business partners and maintain ethical standards of conduct.
  • Work collaboratively across internal teams and communicate clearly to avoid unnecessary problems or disputes.
  • Prioritize internal and external customers while maintaining accountability and sound commercial judgment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of alternating-current/direct-current power systems, power infrastructure, generator systems, battery systems, rectifiers, inverters, or closely related equipment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or construction management.
  • Experience selling into telecommunications or broadband headends, data centers, utilities, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Experience coordinating with project managers, field operations, and subcontractors in short-duration or technically complex retrofit environments.
  • Familiarity with contract review, schedules of values, change management, and commercial risk considerations.
