Responsibilities
  • Define the product line strategy, develop the product roadmap and product requirements, and act as the voice of the customer to deliver business cases, value, and growth.
  • Bridge business strategy, user experience, and technology in a matrix organization while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and marketing.
  • Lead product development from ideation through launch and lifecycle management using New Product Development tools and the Stage Gate process.
  • Develop and execute the long-term product lifecycle for assigned product lines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manage assigned projects while partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Visit end users and specifiers to collect market intelligence, analyze market needs, uncover and validate user problems, and adjust product priorities as needed.
  • Manage growth and profitability of assigned product lines using order volume, sales, profitability, and key performance indicators to track performance and guide decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to product line base-cost targets while ensuring investments in technology and marketing are adequate to accomplish product line goals.
  • Develop and execute New Product Development launch plans, including coordination of internal and external resources, investment budgets, marketing campaigns and content, and sales plans.
  • Prepare major reviews including business plans, strategy plans, annual operating plans, and other periodic business estimates, including financial projections and growth commitments from commercial programs and New Product Introduction launches.
  • Work with sales and marketing to develop and improve product line go-to-market strategy and ensure effective sales resources and channel-partner strategy and management.
  • Understand market needs, trends, and competitor intelligence for assigned product lines, and design, develop, track, and update competitive-intelligence and market-penetration databases.
  • Work with Sourcing to create a secure and efficient supply chain for system delivery.
  • Build the mid-term strategy in terms of priorities, partnerships, and business development.
  • Create or support training materials and lead training sessions for customers and Watts sales personnel on product technical features and benefits.
  • Travel to support training activities and other job requirements.
