  • Previous sales or business development experience, or agency recruitment experience.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and selling, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Generate new business across Marsh by building effective relationships with prospective customers in the corporate, mid-market, and commercial sectors.
  • Develop a full understanding of Marsh's service offering, identify prospect requirements, and demonstrate how solutions meet client needs.
  • Manage and develop accounts using upselling and cross-selling of products and services to maximise profitability.
  • Cultivate and qualify prospect relationships, including key contacts and financial data.
  • Manage the prospect pipeline, maintain regular prospect communications, and move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Use Marsh customer relationship management software to manage the sales funnel and provide a real-time overview of pipeline and performance.
  • Conduct target-market and industry research with the MMC Resource Centre to identify new prospects and develop industry knowledge supporting sales activity.
  • Review and update databases to identify target portfolios and market opportunities.
  • Identify continuous-improvement opportunities and streamline processes to drive growth.
  • Leverage marketing channels, buying groups, and association relationships.
  • Create and manage an individual development plan covering financial goals, specific prospects, and sales strategies.
  • Identify and prioritise prospects in consultation with the Risk Management and Corporate State Leader and Sales and Industry Practice leaders.
  • Lead the development and delivery of proposals and presentations that explain specific risk issues and how Marsh solutions and services address them.
  • Negotiate engagement terms and conditions with prospects in compliance with the Marsh operating model.
  • Comply with the company's errors and omissions avoidance procedures, Australian Australian Financial Services License requirements, and internal policies.
