What you’ll be doing:

• Leading Financial Operations: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements and annual assurance engagements.
• Develop and enforce the company’s finance policies and procedures to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Oversee cash flow management, including all expense payments and payroll, to meet ongoing operational requirements.
• Design and implement scalable processes to accommodate company growth and the addition of new clients, products, and business lines.
• Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of annual operating budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance and enforcing risk-mitigating policies.
• Provide detailed financial analyses to support strategic decision-making by the leadership team.
• Compliance and Control: Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations and internal financial policies in all financial transactions.
• Manage the assurance engagement process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all corporate reporting requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments to ensure cohesive financial strategies and provide financial insights for departmental planning.
• Support department managers with budgeting and expense management.

What we are looking for:

• Proven Experience: Minimum 3 years of post designation (CPA) experience or similar, with demonstrated success in financial management.
• Financial Statement Ownership: Previously experience owning financial statements responsibilities.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and familiarity with accounting software and databases.
• Analytical Thinker: Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Must exhibit a meticulous approach to financial reporting to ensure the integrity of financial data and inspire confidence in the reliability of our financial figures.
• Organized: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly and persuasively.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Insurance Experience: Background in insurance considered an asset.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online: Experience with QuickBooks Online highly valued.
• Familiarity with Financial Systems: Knowledge of other modern financial systems and software such as Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems advantageous.
