  • Knowledge of simulation software, Rockwell Studio 5000, the National Electrical Code, NFPA 86, UL 508A, and AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide the electrical engineering component to a team of engineers building finishing systems.
  • Create control system plans and simulations.
  • Create drawings and bills of materials using SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Supervise the construction of control panels.
  • Support licensed electricians during field installation of systems.
  • Commission systems, including start-up, tuning, and training.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting during the system warranty period.
  • Provide internal department support to maintain standards and policies for electrical systems.
  • Network with neighboring electrical engineers and designers to maintain SWE standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with structured text and C programming is a plus.

Celebrating the career of Jeff Wienke.

Celebrating the career of Jeff Wienke. After more than four decades dedicated to the finishing industry, and two decades with Therma-Tron-X, Jeff Wienke is beginning a well-earned retirement. Jeff's career has been anything but ordinary. Originally trained as an art teacher, an unexpected career change in the mid-1980s led him to study AutoCAD and enter the finishing industry as a designer. What followed was a remarkable career built on curiosity, creativity, technical knowledge, and a genuine passion for solving problems. Jeff progressed from designer to project engineer and eventually into sales engineering, spending 18 years at Eisenmann working on large and complex electrocoating systems for automotive manufacturers in the United States and around the world. Along the way, he became a true student of finishing technology, developing an understanding not only of the equipment, but of the chemistry, material handling, process interactions, and countless details that determine whether a finishing system performs as intended. In 2008, Jeff brought that experience to TTX. Over the years, he has helped develop and deliver an extraordinary range of electrocoat systems for automotive and industrial customers. Jeff has never approached sales as simply selling equipment. He approaches each project as an engineering challenge: understand the customer's process, identify the problem, and develop a system that works. That approach also led to one of the notable accomplishments of his career. Jeff is a named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 10,457,493 B1, "Indexing Conveyor System and Method," a material handling concept developed to improve positioning, synchronization, repeatability, and ultimately the performance of electrocoating operations. But Jeff's contribution to the industry extends beyond the systems he has helped design and sell. He attended some of the earliest electrocoat conferences, has spoken at industry events, and has taught seminars and given various presentations throughout his career. In doing so, he has shared knowledge accumulated through decades of experience with customers, colleagues, and others throughout the finishing industry. Those who have worked with Jeff know that his expertise was earned one project, one problem, and one lesson at a time. Jeff became an engineer of finishing system technology in every way that matters. Tomorrow, Jeff begins a new chapter. Jeff, thank you for the knowledge you have shared, the customers you have served, the problems you have solved, and the contribution you have made to TTX and the finishing industry. Most of all, thank you for the years you have spent working alongside Ttxinc. Your experience will be difficult to replace, your contributions will continue to be reflected in the systems Ttxinc build, and your presence will be missed. Congratulations, Jeff, on an extraordinary career and a well-earned retirement. Ttxinc wish you all the very best in the years ahead.

Optimizing Finishing Systems: Smarter Process, Flow, and Control. At FABTECH 2026, three Therma-Tron-X, Inc. (TTX) experts will bring those elements together during "Optimizing Finishing Systems: Smarter Process, Flow, and Control." The educational session will be held October 22, 2026, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in Room S114 and will feature TTX's Don, Brian, and Corey, each bringing expertise from a different area of finishing system development. A successful industrial finishing system begins long before equipment is selected. It starts with understanding the process: what is being finished, what coating will be applied, how parts need to move through the system, and how production will be monitored and controlled. Start With the Process Coating selection is one of the fundamental decisions influencing finishing system design. Whether a manufacturer chooses powder coating, liquid coating, or e-coat affects much more than the application equipment. It can influence pretreatment requirements, material handling, curing, system layout, throughput, controls, and overall production strategy. During the session, attendees will explore how looking at the complete process first can help manufacturers make better decisions about the equipment that follows. Don brings more than 35 years of finishing industry experience, including coatings development and testing laboratories, application, process engineering, sales, and system design. His background spans liquid, e-coat, and powder coating technologies serving automotive, industrial, agricultural, and other manufacturing markets. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics. Finding the Right Way to Move Product Once the finishing process is established, another important question follows: How should the product move through it? There is no single material handling solution that fits every finishing operation. Part size and weight, production volume, process time, flexibility, available floor space, loading and unloading requirements, and future production needs can all influence conveyor selection. The FABTECH session will examine both traditional and emerging material handling strategies and the importance of matching the conveyance method to the application rather than designing the process around a predetermined conveyor. Brian will bring the system-design perspective to this discussion. He holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Bradley University and an MBA from Roosevelt University. With more than 25 years in the finishing industry, including eight years at TTX, Brian specializes in the design and development of powder, e-coat, and liquid coating systems. His work focuses on developing efficient layouts and detailed system concepts that help manufacturers achieve reliable, high-quality finishing operations. Bringing It Together With Smarter Controls Modern controls provide another layer of opportunity. Today's finishing systems can generate and use significantly more information than systems of the past. Automation, connected equipment, data collection, and Industry 4.0 technologies are giving manufacturers greater visibility into their processes and providing new ways to improve flexibility and decision-making. Corey brings the controls and software perspective to the presentation with eight years of experience in software development and embedded systems, concentrating on industrial controls and line-of-business applications. His experience includes developing AGV control systems using CAN, MQTT, and Wi-Fi technologies and creating full-stack solutions using C#, .NET, and SQL Server to connect shop-floor systems with enterprise applications. He also uses 3D printing and rapid prototyping to address mechanical and integration challenges. One System, Not Three Separate Decisions Coating process, material handling, and controls are often discussed individually, but their interaction can ultimately determine how well a finishing system performs. "Optimizing Finishing Systems: Smarter Process, Flow, and Control" will give FABTECH attendees a broader look at how these decisions work together - and how integrated, process-driven thinking can help manufacturers improve performance, increase flexibility, and maximize operational efficiency. Therma-Tron-X expanding facilities

Therma-Tron-X is expanding its facility in Sturgeon Bay’s Industrial Park with a 3,300-square-foot maintenance building and a second-story mezzanine inside the original building at 1155 S. Neenah Ave. The addition, which the Sturgeon Bay Industrial Park Review Team recently approved, will more than double the size of the maintenance facility.
