Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience is required; if the education requirement is not met, 3 years of external customer-facing sales or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of sales or customer service experience in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.

Responsibilities
  • Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers, understanding their needs, answering questions, and communicating the advantages of Lowe’s products and services.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within the department by providing project estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing and tracking customer orders and installations, and following up to ensure project completion.
  • In the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
  • Monitor inventory levels to support sales, working with vendors and other stores to locate merchandise and order replacement stock.
  • Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and maintain pricing and documentation.
  • Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, and requests for assistance.
  • Train associates in the department through on-the-job training on the sales floor and coach associates regarding development needs.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Inform customers about product specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close sales.
  • Provide consulting services to ensure customer needs are met before they leave the store.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience completing customer sales orders.
  • At least 1 year of experience promoting product-related services and plans, such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or a computer-aided design system.
  • Professional certification related to the department being considered.
  • Bilingual skills.

Major US retailers have received over $5 billion in tariff refunds this week alone, with Walmart getting $2.9 billion, Target $994 million, and Home Depot $730 million. The Trump administration is refunding approximately $166 billion in tariff revenue after the Supreme Court struck down its sweeping tariff policy, having returned $100 billion so far. Despite studies showing consumers bore the brunt of initial tariff costs through higher prices, most companies are reinvesting the refunds rather than passing savings to shoppers. Retail executives indicated in earnings calls they plan to put the money back into their businesses. Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Lowe's CEO warns of cautious consumer spending amid macro and geopolitical uncertainty

Lowe's Q2 sales reach $26B with 0.2% comparable growth, updates 2026 outlook

Lowe's stock trades 27% below peak as DIY demand weakens despite strong cash flow
