Requirements

Thorough knowledge of electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems, plumbing, and fire fighting.
A B.E./B.Tech degree in Electrical or Mechanical is required.
Six to ten years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the single point of contact and take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery.
Ensure client objectives are met through effective cost management service delivery.
Handle commissions of varying sizes depending on project complexity.
Support team members and junior colleagues with technical difficulties.
Plan and manage works assigned by senior management or the client.
Estimate and plan costs, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes, referring major changes to the line manager where applicable.
Take personal responsibility for cost checks and valuations on larger projects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checks and valuations in all cases.
Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
Contribute to value engineering.
Review MEP specifications, interpret contracts, and participate in technical and commercial negotiations with vendors.
Negotiate and agree final accounts.
Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
Where appropriate, lead a cost management team and ensure delivery of its accountabilities.

Desired Qualifications

A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Job Description

Role within the project

To perform the role of the SPOC, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery
To ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service

Main job purpose (other than specified in the generic Job Description)

Cost Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project
Thorough knowledge on Electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems, plumbing & fire fighting.
Supporting the team and juniors in case of any technical difficulties faced by them.
Planning and managing the works assigned by the senior management/Client.

Responsibilities (other than specified in the Job Description)

Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
Dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager
Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
Inputting into value engineering
Review MEP specifications, interpret contracts and participate in technical & commercial negotiations with vendors.
Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities

Qualifications

Education - B.E/B.Tech – Electrical/Mechanical
Post Graduate Qualification in relevant field would be an added advantage
6 - 10 years of post-qualification experience in similar role
