Flynn Group of Companies is the leading Building Envelope Construction Company with over 6000 employees and 35+ offices throughout North America.
We are currently searching for an experienced Design Manager with Commercial Glazing experience, including Curtain Wall and Stick Wall systems. This key role will be a key contributor to the success of the Design and Drafting divisions, working with the Shop and Drafting departments to insure projects are completed on time and on task.
This role will require qualified candidates to relocate to the Toronto, Canada market.
This position will be based in Toronto, Canada.
In-house, licensed Immigration team at Flynn who will assist you with the following:
-Work permit application (at no cost to you)
-Permits for your spouse/common-law partner and dependent children to relocate with you to Canada
-Maintaining and renewing your status in Canada without having to leave the country
-Permanent residency application for you and your family once you qualify
Requirements:
10+ years experience with Commercial Glazing projects valuing up to $100m, including Unitized Curtain wall systems, Stick wall systems
5+ years experience in leading and managing a Design team
Ability to read and understands Architectural and Structural Drawings
Strong knowledge of Building Science, Construction and design deliverables
A Day in the life: (Responsibilities)
Foresee, solve and address curtain wall issues as they arise
Read and review specifications providing input for potential risks
Supervisor, coach and mentor Draftspersons
Plan and execute Curtain wall/Window shop and fabrication drawings with input from design team
Organize and schedule projects and draftspersons
