Requirements
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction of industrial projects.
  • Experience with strategic planning, financial statement evaluation, key performance indicator development, leadership development, customer acquisition, basic human resource functions, and other elements of leading a construction company.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple locations, with projects up to $75 million in value and multiple crews totaling at least 250–500 craft employees across all projects.
  • Experience with Vista Viewpoint and Field Management or a similar job-costing program, as well as Microsoft Office products.
  • Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in external, manufacturing, refining, and other industrial environments, including exposure to uneven surfaces, extreme temperatures, construction equipment, noise above 85 decibels, intense odors, adverse gases, limited visibility, supplemental breathing apparatuses, extreme heights, trenches, confined spaces, tanks, and vessels.
  • Ability to comply with applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment requirements, and Environmental Health and Safety policies.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the overall safety, quality, and profitability of the Area.
  • Drive the safety culture within the Area and support corporate safety goals by ensuring projects and personnel adhere to safety standards and requirements, including reporting, meetings, safety-app utilization, site-specific safety plans, pre-planning, and metrics such as TRIR, DART, and EMOD.
  • Support implementation and sustained execution of Loenbro’s quality standards by regional quality personnel, ensuring projects and operational employees meet those standards.
  • Ensure projects meet or exceed bid-day gross margins and support the project controls needed to achieve this goal.
  • Control Area overhead expenses within KPI expectations while balancing growth, resource bench strength, and available opportunities.
  • Bid and build Water Solutions projects, including water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, water reclamation, desalination, pump stations, lift stations, water storage facilities, distribution and transmission systems, utility infrastructure, municipal water and wastewater systems, industrial water systems, stormwater management, and related civil and process infrastructure.
  • Maintain a balanced mix of municipal, industrial, and private-sector water infrastructure opportunities throughout the region, with a focus on non-fossil-fuel opportunities while pursuing profitable fossil-fuel opportunities accessible through existing relationships and resources.
  • Bid and build projects across regional geographies and establish Loenbro as a leader in industrial infrastructure construction and maintenance throughout the local region.
  • Lead the full-service, turnkey offering across the region through customer meetings, proposal development, and new customer acquisition.
  • Ensure projects follow standards established by the Loenbro Project Controls group across budgeting, costing, productivity tracking, scheduling, document control, change-order development, forecasting, and project closeout.
  • Support the Project Controls group in developing and implementing project standards.
  • Determine and implement the regional organizational structure needed to meet safety, quality, profitability, growth, and diversification goals, including establishing area offices and leadership.
  • Oversee recruiting of professional staff and craft leadership for existing and new work fronts.
  • Ensure hires are made according to the Humble, Hungry, and Smart criteria.
  • Assist with wage determinations and standardization for different pay classes, craft types, and position descriptions.
  • Support regional, project, and craft management in meeting growth and diversification needs.
  • Maintain at least 90% utilization of direct and indirect labor in the Area.
  • Ensure the Area has sufficient employment bench strength to pursue potential projects and support regional growth and diversification.
  • Support the finance team in developing the Area’s annual budget, including monthly revenue by job, gross profit percentage by job, planned overhead spending, and planned capital expenditures.
  • Support quarterly re-forecasts with the finance team using the same budget requirements.
  • Manage regional operations in line with budgeted and forecasted revenue growth, revenue mix, profitability, and capital expenditure metrics.
  • Manage the Area’s long-term direction according to KPIs from the annual budgeting process and Loenbro’s strategic plan.
  • Support pre-construction estimating through bid reviews and constructability reviews, including activity production, crew makeup, equipment selection, and cost analysis.
  • Develop direct reports in job-specific skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Regional Vice President.
