Requirements
  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience in Java, with strong command of concurrency, collections, and modern Java language features.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Agent Mode, Devin, or Gemini Code Assist, including governing AI agents, assessing their output, and maintaining the quality of AI-generated work.
  • Experience building event-driven and distributed systems, including messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka, delivery guarantees, and resilience strategies.
  • Strong software development lifecycle practices, including version control, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated build, test, and deployment workflows, and code quality tooling.
  • Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing using modern frameworks.
  • Ability to navigate, understand, and debug large and unfamiliar codebases with and without AI assistance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences in geographically distributed teams.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services with security and comprehensive observability, including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging, built into every layer.
  • Develop event-driven architectures, multi-stage processing pipelines, and optimized data paths for high-throughput trade lifecycle management.
  • Partner with engineers, domain experts, and global stakeholders to understand, model, and digitize business processes, challenge entrenched practices, and drive modernization across teams.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of software components from requirements analysis through design, development, testing, and release in line with software development lifecycle and Agile practices.
  • Develop reusable capabilities for complex business and technical problems across front-, middle-, and back-office functions of Global Banking & Markets.
  • Orchestrate AI coding agents across all stages of the software development lifecycle to understand large codebases, generate production-quality code, and accelerate delivery.

  • Equities, post-trade, or financial services experience.
  • Trade lifecycle concepts, asset servicing, position management, reconciliation, and multi-system migration environments.
  • Asynchronous or non-blocking input/output frameworks such as Vert.x or Netty.
  • Multi-region and business continuity planning architectures.
  • Open-source contribution experience.

ByteDance's $20B loan attracts $30B in orders to fund AI expansion

ByteDance has attracted over $30 billion in orders for a $20 billion offshore syndicated loan, representing 1.5 times oversubscription. The three-year facility, extendable to five years, marks the TikTok parent company's largest syndicated loan to date. This continues ByteDance's pattern of scaling up its borrowing. The company debuted in the syndicated loan market in 2019 with $1.335 billion and closed a $10.8 billion facility in 2024. Major international banks, including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan, have participated in previous rounds. ByteDance has raised its 2026 AI capital expenditure budget to over CNY 200 billion (approximately $30 billion), a 25% increase. Flexential secures $800M to develop 130+ MW of data centre capacity across four US markets

Flexential has secured an $800 million credit facility to fund data centre development across four US markets. The financing will support more than 130 MW of new capacity, including facilities under construction in Atlanta-Douglasville (36 MW), Portland-Hillsboro (36 MW), and Denver-Parker (22.5 MW). The facility was oversubscribed and increased 60% from an initial $500 million target. It is backed by an 11-bank syndicate, with TD Securities as administrative agent. The funding complements equity investment from Flexential's sponsors, GI Partners and MSIP. CEO Ryan Mallory said the financing enables the company to invest ahead of enterprise and AI-driven infrastructure demand. Flexential operates 40 data centres across 18 markets in the US.
