Africa Blockchain Festival announces Truecaller as Official Travel eSIM Partner for 2026 edition. October 13, 2026 Africa Blockchain Festival (ABF) has announced a strategic partnership with Truecaller, the globally recognised communication safety platform, as its Official Travel eSIM Partner for the 2026 edition, scheduled to take place from October 15 to 17 in Nairobi, Kenya. The partnership reflects the festival's commitment to delivering a seamless experience for its international delegates, bringing together technology leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, creators, and innovators from across Africa and beyond. As the Official Travel eSIM Partner, Truecaller will support the festival's international connectivity experience through Truecaller Travel eSIM, helping delegates stay connected as they travel to Nairobi and participate in one of Africa's leading gatherings for blockchain technology, digital finance, and innovation. With attendees travelling from multiple countries, reliable mobile connectivity is essential for navigating a new city, coordinating meetings, accessing digital services, sharing experiences, and staying in touch with colleagues and loved ones. Truecaller Travel eSIM offers an accessible way for international travellers to access mobile data without the inconvenience of purchasing and replacing physical SIM cards, helping them stay connected throughout their journey. The partnership brings together two organisations with a shared interest in enabling greater connectivity across borders. While Africa Blockchain Festival creates opportunities for collaboration across the continent's digital economy, Truecaller Travel eSIM addresses an everyday challenge faced by the people travelling to make those connections possible. Speaking on the partnership, Olubunmi Fabanwo, Convener, Africa Blockchain Festival, said, "At Africa Blockchain Festival, News Wings is intentional about creating an experience that goes beyond the conversations on stage. Its delegates are coming from different parts of Africa and the world, and staying connected is fundamental to how they travel, collaborate, and engage with the festival. "Welcoming Truecaller as our Official Travel eSIM Partner allows us to extend that experience beyond the venue, helping participants stay connected from the moment they begin their journey to Nairobi." The 2026 edition of Africa Blockchain Festival will convene key stakeholders in Africa's rapidly evolving digital economy, with discussions spanning blockchain adoption, artificial intelligence, digital assets, financial infrastructure, regulation, and the future of cross-border innovation. Through the partnership, Africa Blockchain Festival and Truecaller will also explore opportunities to engage travelling delegates and showcase how digital connectivity enables collaboration, mobility, and participation in Africa's growing innovation ecosystem.

Truecaller launches ai-enabled Call Recording in India with transcription and call summary. OV Digital Desk October 14, 2026 Last Updated: October 14, 2026 2 minutes read Truecaller AI call recording feature now on iOS Truecaller, the leading global platform for verifying contacts and blocking unwanted communications, announced the launch of AI-Powered Call Recording in India, for iOS and Android platforms. The new addition provides users with the ability to record incoming and outgoing calls directly within the Truecaller app, offering a convenient and efficient way to capture and manage important conversations. By leveraging cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology, Truecaller empowers users to fully engage in their live conversation without the need to be concerned about taking detailed notes, thereby improving productivity during calls. The integration of AI into the newly launched call recording feature marks a significant leap forward, allowing for a detailed transcription of the entire phone call, along with an AI-generated call summary. For iPhone After answering or making a call, open the Truecaller app, go to the Search tab and tap 'Record a call'. This will call the recording line, which is a special number provided by Truecaller. The call screen will then provide the option to merge the calls. A push notification will alert you when the recording is ready. Previously recorded calls can also be accessed within Truecaller. On iPhone, all recorded calls are stored locally on the device, ensuring complete control. Additionally, users have the option to create a backup on iCloud, providing an extra layer of security. For Android The Truecaller dialer includes a dedicated recording button that can start or stop recording with just one tap. On other dialers, users will have a 'floating' button to initiate or end recording. Once the call ends, a push notification will alert users when the recording and transcription are ready. Users can easily listen to recordings, rename them, delete unwanted ones, or seamlessly share them with other apps. Speaking about the launch of the call recording feature, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Managing Director and Chief Product Officer of Truecaller stated, "We are constantly innovating cutting-edge solutions that enhance communication. As we continue to push these boundaries, we are thrilled to announce our AI-enabled Call Recording solution, which has always been a highly requested user feature. We want to give our customers greater control and flexibility in managing their conversations, and it is also a very valuable tool for both personal and professional purposes." Truecaller's AI powered Call Recording solution will be available as a part of the brand's Premium plan, starting at INR 75 per month or INR 529 per year. While the feature is being rolled out across iOS and Android, it currently supports transcriptions only in English and Hindi. Athul Prabhu: Programmatic's next value creator is the intelligent supply side.

Athul Prabhu: Programmatic's next value creator is the intelligent supply side. Truecaller's Director of Product Management says 99% of bid requests go unanswered and urges publishers to build intelligence into bidding, auctions and outcomes. Programmatic innovation has so far been built for the media buyer, but the action is now moving to the supply side, said Athul Prabhu, Director of Product Management, Truecaller, at the e4m Real Time Programmatic Conference 2026. His session was titled "The Rise of the Intelligent Supply Side: How the Sell Side Is Becoming Programmatic's New Value Creator". For years, Prabhu said, supply "has acted as a passive pipe for a long period of time, offering just undifferentiated inventory". He identified three shifts changing that. The first is bidding intelligence, which covers decisions made before a bid request is even sent. He pointed to an estimate that 99 per cent of bid requests from supply side platforms and publishers receive no bid, calling it "a colossal waste of infra, effort and opportunity". The answer, he said, lies in traffic shaping and sell side curation, matching supply with the right demand and enriching each request using first-party data. Because publishers sit closest to the user and understand context, this yields richer targeting. The second is auction intelligence. Publishers and platforms have long worked with black-boxed platforms and static waterfalls, but Prabhu said that is no longer acceptable given how quickly business conditions change. The shift is towards owning a platform built for specific use cases, with AI-driven real-time decisioning engines extracting the best outcome from each opportunity. The third is outcome intelligence, or moving from selling inventory to selling outcomes. Prabhu rejected the idea that programmatic is a zero-sum game, saying there are "win-win-win transactions" in which buyers, sellers and the platforms in between all gain. He also urged the industry to treat programmatic relationships as business partnerships that go beyond integrations. For media buyers, he argued, the stakes are high. Curated supply offers signals unavailable in open auctions, so buyers should "think beyond open auctions" and explore private programmatic partnerships with publishers. As publishers take on more of the decisioning, the feedback loop to the buy side can go well beyond standard metrics, answering whether a bid won, why it did not, and whether a request was sent at all. On why India and why now, Prabhu said these conversations are mature in global markets, but the big opportunity is here, with the DPDP Act now upon the industry. He called it a chance to build partnerships "built on trusted signals". Truecaller, he said, is "leading the charge". The company has built a decisioning engine that combines all three forms of intelligence and runs in real time for every impression across its 500 million monthly active users globally, with promising early results. It is also focusing on signal integrity, extending the layer of trust it provides in protecting users from scams and fraud into the programmatic ecosystem, and on co-building solutions with partners. "It's the same user, it's the same consumer, and it's the same advertiser," Prabhu said, adding that "there's magic" to be unlocked when supply and buy sides build intelligence together instead of in isolation.
