Requirements
  • High School/GED.
  • Three to five years of experience in desktop administration is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain an IT Level I certification in accordance with AR 25-2 and an Information Assurance Technical Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Occasional use of a company vehicle while on the work site is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the most recent version of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office applications such as Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite 2013, and common desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat and Tumbleweed is required, along with the ability to quickly learn unique government-off-the-shelf applications.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies is required.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to research and solve complex issues independently are required.
  • The ability to learn new skills and apply them as needed is required.
  • The ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization is required.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information is required.
  • A DoD Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The role requires sufficient mobility for bending, reaching, and kneeling, and may require lifting up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Configure, diagnose, reimage, reload, utilize, troubleshoot, and repair Microsoft Windows-based laptops and desktops running Windows Vista and Windows 10 or higher, including associated peripheral devices.
  • Configure, diagnose, reload, utilize, troubleshoot, and repair Microsoft Office 2013 applications, including Outlook and related components.
  • Configure, diagnose, reload, utilize, troubleshoot, and repair NCES products.
  • Configure, diagnose, reload, utilize, troubleshoot, and repair Jabber instant messaging applications.
  • Configure, diagnose, reload, utilize, troubleshoot, and repair Wi-Fi and AirCard applications and wireless services.
  • Configure, diagnose, reload, utilize, troubleshoot, and repair handheld devices and handheld-device Common Access Card smart-card readers.
  • Use Active Directory tools to manage and create objects in Microsoft Server.
  • Use remote tools, including SCCM, to connect to remote desktops.
  • Assist users during briefings and events with collaborative tools such as Google Earth, Defense Cyber Operations Connect Online, Jabber, portals, and alert systems.
  • Maintain industry and government IT compliance standards through scheduled deployments and patch-management activities.
  • Interface with stakeholders, generate reports, and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
