Requirements
  • Proven experience in business development, consultative selling, account growth, customer relationship management, and market expansion.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with municipalities, fire services, emergency services, the insurance industry, organizations focused on risk analysis and underwriting, risk management, or public-sector clients.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex client relationships and long sales cycles.
  • Experience developing proposals, supporting procurement processes, or participating in sales activities with governments and public agencies.
  • Postsecondary education in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to explain analytical or technical concepts in practical terms adapted to a business context.
  • Availability to travel across Canada as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business-development strategies to increase SIAI membership services among municipalities, the insurance industry, and related markets.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with fire-service directors, municipal elected officials, insurance companies, production underwriters, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional SIAI services, the Building Fire Risk Predictive Model, wildfire-related services, and future offerings.
  • Support insurance-industry membership renewals, customer-retention initiatives, and long-term customer growth.
  • Lead discovery meetings, client presentations, product demonstrations, proposals, webinars, conference sessions, and follow-up activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate service pricing, scope definition, contracts, procurement, privacy, security, and sales activities.
  • Maintain a practical understanding of SIAI and Building Fire Risk Predictive Model services, data requirements, outputs, and applications.
  • Serve as a client contact during solution integration, implementation, training, and rollout activities.
  • Explain technical and analytical concepts clearly to municipalities, general-insurance stakeholders, and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Help clients understand how SIAI solutions and predictive-model analytics support fire prevention, loss prevention, risk categorization, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify adoption barriers and coordinate practical solutions with internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to municipal clients and insurance-industry stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' needs, priorities, and operational challenges.
  • Support solution adoption, retention, renewals, referrals, and expansion opportunities with clients.
  • Ensure a positive client experience throughout the sales cycle, onboarding, and ongoing client relationship.
  • Build lasting relationships that support clients' long-term success and recurring revenue growth.
  • Gather customer and market feedback to help guide future service improvements and product priorities.
  • Work closely with internal SIAI experts and cross-functional stakeholders, including product, geographic information systems, analytics, marketing, legal, privacy, technology, and operations teams.
  • Support preparation of sales-enablement tools and materials, client communications, proposals, and presentations.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new growth and expansion opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of fire protection, fire-insurance classifications, property risks, municipal operations, public safety, or insurance-industry practices.
  • Bilingual French-English ability.
  • Strong presentation, relationship-development, negotiation, communication, and organizational abilities, including the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, business opportunities, and priorities simultaneously.

Verisk Analytics CEO Lee Shavel sold 2,500 shares of common stock for $550,000 on 29 July 2026, according to an SEC filing. The shares were sold at a weighted average price of $220.00. The transaction was executed under a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted by Shavel in December 2025. Verisk CIO Nick Daffan steps down after 20 years as CTO takes interim role

Verisk Analytics announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer Nick Daffan has stepped down after approximately two decades with the company. The Chief Technology Officer will assume Daffan's responsibilities on an interim basis whilst Verisk evaluates longer-term leadership plans for the role. Verisk Q2 earnings beat estimates at $1.98 per share on insurance growth

Verisk reported second-quarter 2026 diluted adjusted earnings of $1.98 per share, beating estimates of $1.94 by 2.1%. Revenues reached $806.3 million, topping consensus of $802.4 million and rising 4.3% year over year. Underwriting revenues increased 3.5% to $569 million, driven by annual price increases and expanded catastrophe solutions. Claims revenues rose 6.3% to $237 million, led by anti-fraud analytics and restoration solutions. Adjusted EBITDA grew 4.2% to $463.6 million, with the margin at 57.5%. However, GAAP net income fell 9.8% to $228.6 million due to higher tax rates and increased interest expenses. Free cash flow surged 57.9% to $297.9 million.
