Requirements
  • High school or equivalent education with demonstrated clerical and registration skills, computer proficiency, and knowledge of medical and dental terminology.
  • Prior healthcare experience in a medical or dental office.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Emotional maturity and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and maintain the confidentiality of handled data.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity, including handling objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day.
Responsibilities
  • Greet patients promptly and warmly.
  • Work with support staff and the Dentist to ensure safe, high-quality care.
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and assist the Dentist during dental procedures.
  • Obtain dental history and vital signs.
  • Sterilize equipment.
  • Maintain adequate clinical supply levels in each operatory, manage clinical supply inventory, and order supplies.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and obtain complete and accurate personal and financial information efficiently and courteously.
  • Assume responsibility for expanded duties delegated by the Practice Manager or Dentist.
Desired Qualifications
  • Dental Assistant certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Customer service skills.
