Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing), Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, or Process Engineering role within a manufacturing, food production, or high-volume fulfillment environment.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles (Green Belt is a plus).
  • Familiarity with FDA, USDA-AMS & FSIS, GFSI, FSMA regulations, HACCP Certified, and SQF Practitioner Certified.
  • Soft skills including exceptional communication skills and ability to translate technical quality concepts for warehouse associates.
  • Ability to spend 50% of time on the warehouse floor in cold environments (36°F and below).
  • Education in Engineering or related fields and related technical experience.
  • Experience managing or supervising teams in a quality or operations role.
  • Problem solving capability with root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone).
  • Experience using data tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, or Tableau.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, coach, and mentor the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor; audit warehouse processes to ensure adherence to the 'Perfect Box' standard.
  • Lead site investigations into internal errors and customer complaints; use advanced metrics for predictive mitigation.
  • Partner with Inbound and Inventory Control teams to establish acceptance/rejection parameters for incoming items ensuring criteria before going live in the Warehouse Management System.
  • Trigger and lead critical site Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and validation activities; design engineering and workflow solutions to eliminate bottlenecks and mitigate shrink.
  • Develop, review, and deploy Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions; establish document control processes using electronic Quality Management System and supporting repositories; transfer knowledge for SOP deployment and problem solving.
  • Lead change management for new quality initiatives, test methods, and validations; ensure timelines are met and stakeholders are aligned.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control, Pareto charts, and trend data to interpret quality signals; formulate weekly and monthly quality performance roll-ups and Voice of the Customer feedback loops for regional leadership.
  • Use data to influence operational decisions and justify process changes with hard evidence.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation standards; drive audit readiness for FDA/USDA/State, SQF benchmarking targets; champion a culture of safety.
  • Lead onboarding of electronic Quality Management Systems; maximize Warehouse Management System functionality with systems engineers; supervise mock recalls and trace activities to achieve 100% recovery target within regulatory windows.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience implementing or maintaining SQF, BRC, or ISO 9001 systems (preferred).
  • Green Belt or higher certification (preferred).
  • Spanish language skills (preferred).
