About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in enterprise business-to-business software-as-a-service sales, with a strong track record of hunting, closing, and owning complex sales cycles and consistently achieving or exceeding quota.
  • Experience selling into freight forwarders or logistics service providers is highly preferred; the candidate should be genuinely curious about supply chains and able to develop credibility with enterprise buyers.
  • Experience selling to enterprise customers in the United States market, with an existing network or demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to own every stage of the sales process, from building pipeline through closing complex enterprise opportunities, including prospecting, negotiating, identifying target accounts, finding the right people, creating conversations, and generating pipeline through outbound outreach, relationships, referrals, and a personal network.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment with high ownership and evolving structure, work as the only commercial person in the region, and stay productive without constant direction.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand operational challenges, and position solutions around business outcomes rather than product features.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively solve problems, remove blockers, know when to involve leadership, and maintain ownership of deals using structured pipeline management, qualification, forecasting, and deal progression.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, facilitate executive conversations, negotiate effectively, build trust throughout long enterprise buying cycles, and collaborate across Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Technology.
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Build the United States market from the ground up by developing and executing an account strategy for acquiring enterprise freight forwarders and prioritizing segments, accounts, and decision-makers where Portcast can create value.
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, conduct discovery, understand customers’ operations and pain points, demonstrate appropriate Portcast solutions, manage trials, negotiate, and close.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across freight forwarding organizations, including commercial and operations leaders, procurement, and other decision-makers involved in technology and margin improvement.
  • Develop expertise in customers’ shipment, exception, freight cost, procurement, and margin workflows, and connect those challenges to Portcast’s value.
  • Create pipeline using targeted outbound outreach, personal networks, industry relationships, account research, events, referrals, and other approaches to reach high-value freight forwarders.
  • Capture market learnings from early wins, identify patterns across successful deals, and continually improve positioning, qualification, selling, and closing.
  • Bring customer and market intelligence to Marketing and Product to improve messaging, sales assets, product positioning, and understanding of the United States market.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success to ensure customers transition smoothly from sale and trial into implementation and long-term value.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and communicate what is working, what is not, and where support is needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling to freight forwarders or logistics service providers is highly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
