About the job
- Familiarity with the Detroit metropolitan area is required.
- A clean driving record is required.
- Applicants must pass a background screening, pre-employment physical, and drug screen.
- Applicants must be available to work Wednesday through Saturday.
- Applicants must have good mechanical knowledge and be comfortable using tools.
- Applicants must have experience operating a 26-foot straight truck.
- Applicants must be able to lift and maneuver furniture weighing more than 100 pounds into tight or awkward spaces without damaging the furniture or the customer's home or business.
- Keep the truck clean and neat after each delivery.
- Assist with assembly of furniture delivered to customer homes.
- Safely load furniture for secure transport.
- Handle paperwork and track delivery paperwork, trip sheets, and other reports as needed.
- Maintain a polite, respectful demeanor and good customer relations despite possible customer dissatisfaction.
- Problem-solve difficult deliveries and delivery issues.
