Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail is required.

Responsibilities
  • Plan promotional, educational, and other events to increase community awareness.
  • Develop a network and database of community contacts, agencies, and services.
  • Research and prepare reports, records, and other documentation to coordinate and implement public and outreach programs.
  • Develop creative strategies to effectively communicate awareness of outreach programs.
  • Respond to public inquiries about programs.
  • Train personnel to carry out effective public education and outreach programs.
  • Distribute educational literature.
  • Document daily activities and the number of contacts reached or served through outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain effective communication with current and prospective clients to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
  • Promote services offered to the targeted group.
  • Support HIV-positive people who inject drugs who are newly diagnosed or re-engaging in care to complete a first provider visit, on-site phlebotomy, and immediate antiretroviral HIV therapy induction.
  • Accompany clients throughout linkage-to-care and follow-up treatment appointments, ensuring that antiretroviral therapy initiation occurs and that patients are supported with medication adherence.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
