About the job
- Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program and hold a valid Physical Therapy license in Florida.
- Have at least one year of experience in physical therapy; home health care experience is preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to create effective physical therapy treatment plans that promote patient recovery.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
- Read and interpret physician orders and implement treatment according to those orders.
- Provide compassionate care and evidence-based treatment to help patients achieve positive outcomes.
- Pass background screening through Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and create personalized treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals.
- Teach patients and their families how to perform exercises and activities to promote recovery and improve mobility.
- Document patient progress, including changes in condition, treatment plans, and goals, and communicate updates to other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, social workers, speech therapists, and other medical professionals to ensure effective treatment.
- Follow established policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention and self-care techniques to reduce relapse or recurring injuries.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with state and national regulations.
