Requirements
  • Proven experience in hospitality, hotel, remote camp, or food and beverage operations, particularly in inventory or cost control roles.
  • Progressive experience in kitchen roles, preferably in hospitality, camps, or industrial or remote environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and WHMIS or Food Safe certification is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, or sit according to the task for extended periods.
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and stock control.
  • Strong analytical and financial tracking skills for cost reporting and waste reduction.
  • Ability to work respectfully with Indigenous and Inuit team members.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to comply with all client and company safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays as required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor food production and product consumption to control costs and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records and cost records and investigate variances.
  • Generate cost per menu item and improve the food cost program by creating standard operating procedures and price-control measures.
  • Use camp programs to create recipes and determine ingredient costs.
  • Create daily menus in PowerPoint for site-wide distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with company standard operating procedures, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Maintain standardized procedures for receiving, storage, and food production.
  • Develop recipes with the chef and create a recipe catalogue for day-to-day operations.
  • Work with the chef to cost recipes and implement standard operating procedures for use.
  • Train employees on recipe use, portioning, FIFO/FEFO, production procedures, and company procedures.
  • Promote best practices for waste reduction, stock rotation, and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate the step-by-step cooking process for recipes based on standard operating procedures.
  • Develop a training manual and enhance the training process to increase employee competency.
  • Arrange transportation to the designated dispatch point, typically Edmonton, Alberta.
  • Work in a remote Arctic mining environment, including routine outdoor movement of materials between sea-cans and warehouse locations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Postsecondary education in hospitality, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Canadian Red Seal certification.

Dexterra Group revenue climbs 8% to $269M as EBITDA margin hits 12%

Dexterra Group reported strong Q2 2026 results, with revenue rising 8% year-over-year to $269 million and adjusted EBITDA increasing 9% to $33 million. The company achieved a 12% adjusted EBITDA margin and generated $22 million in free cash flow during the quarter. Support services revenue grew 10% to $226 million, whilst asset-based services revenue reached $43 million. The asset-based services segment saw its adjusted EBITDA margin improve to 40% from 38% in the prior year period, driven by higher-margin workforce accommodation rental revenue. Net debt decreased to $206 million from $225 million at the end of March 2026, representing 1.5 times adjusted EBITDA. The company's trailing 12-month return on equity reached 15.4%, meeting its 15% target. Dexterra declared a dividend of $0.10 per share, payable in October 2026.
