Responsibilities
  • Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers, or clients.
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed.
  • Manage and lead the team through project completion, including postmortems, regular status updates, continual improvement, and adjustments.
  • Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables, and submit deliverables while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provide technical assistance, including interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment, as required.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Understand the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Resolve employee or contractor problems.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
  • Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, ensure appropriate safety systems and processes are used, conduct audits for each project, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other state and federal safety and environmental laws.
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with Harris and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Perform site walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Ensure project closeout, including the operation and maintenance manual, owner training, punch list, and commissioning.
  • Attend pre-bid, turnover, and preplanning meetings as required.
  • Plan, schedule, or coordinate controls project team activities in line with the overall project schedule, and provide updates to the project team during regularly scheduled project meetings.
  • Assign duties or work schedules to project team employees.
  • Develop or update project plans, including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Implement new or modified plans in response to delays, change orders, or construction site emergencies.
  • Evaluate construction methods and determine the cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, rental equipment, income, and expenses, and complete change orders while protecting the company's interests and maintaining good client relationships.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost-tracking reports.
  • Monitor monthly financial figures and take proactive action to prevent losses and maximize profitability.
  • Address and correct issues when the project exceeds budget or scope.
  • Assume ownership for craft productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Review or complete change-order pricing.
  • Manage contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements, including change orders, with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
  • Initiate and maintain extra-work estimating and issuance of change orders.

Harris expands into Colorado through multiple strategic acquisitions. June 2, 2026 Harris has expanded its national footprint into Colorado through the acquisition of three companies serving the region's mechanical systems, controls and building automation markets. The move establishes a strong operating base for Harris in Colorado and significantly broadens the company's presence across the Mountain West. The expansion began with the acquisition of Colorado-based temperature controls company D.R. Associates (DRA), effective May 4. Founded in Denver more than 20 years ago, DRA has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable temperature control solutions tailored to the needs of Colorado businesses. The company serves customers across industries including healthcare, manufacturing and commercial facilities. Effective June 1, Harris also acquired Climate Engineering (CEI) and Centennial Controls (CCI). CEI and CCI bring complementary expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC solutions and building automation throughout Colorado. Together, the companies have supported a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the region, helping customers improve building performance, visibility and operational efficiency through advanced mechanical and controls solutions.
