As a Junior Planner, your primary objective will be to control the production of wireless devices coming in for repair and of the components needed to repair the devices, maintain proper levels of finished goods to support demands, provide priority schedules for various departments (i.e. receiving, quality, kitting, shipping). You will be assigned projects which you will help coordinate the necessary resources (i.e. material and labor) to ensure we produce the necessary electronic devices on time to meet/exceed our customers’ expectations. You will be entrusted to make critical decisions that will affect our business, such as identifying what products need to be built, within what time frame, and identifying the components needed to complete the tasks. You will be expected to maintain proper controls of the inventory used to rebuild/refurbish these devices, and finished goods to support demands.
This is an onsite role in our Lewisville TX facility with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 7AM - 4PM.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Schedule daily and monthly production for internal and outsource repair based on monthly repair plan requirements, by requisition and maintenance of inventory materials and supplies, necessary to meet production demands and goals
- Coordinate with stockroom, receiving, and quality control the availability of material (i.e. handsets and components) for internal and outsource production
- Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables, to assist in determining personnel and materials requirements and priorities; adjust schedules as required to align with production capacity (internal and outsource) and component constraints
- Provide accurate daily and monthly feedback on production status against monthly plans and schedules to department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
- Analyze forecast and demands to create monthly repair plans to meet customers’ requirements
- Execute Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to drive requirements for components and handsets
- Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production and shipping activities to expedite flow of materials and finished goods to meet production and resolve complaints or eliminate delays
- Analyze trends to forecast demands and plan production commitments or timetables for business units, specific programs, or jobs
- Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventory, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed
- Maintain inventory turns and reduce Excess and Obsolete (E&O)
- Assist with maintaining proper levels of finished goods inventory to support demands and direct disposition (i.e. liquidate, cross dock) of excess devices
- Participate in development and training process to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
- Additional duties as assigned
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years of equivalent experience; or 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Oracle, Tableau. Expert level in Excel
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- APICS Certification preferred (CPIM or CSCP)
- Solid understanding of MRP process for driving time-phased, end-item and component requirements
- Able to read and interpret forecast data and develop detailed production plans
- High energy and positive outlook
- Possess strong analytical skills and ability to analyze large amounts of data
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate and plan for unforeseen challenges
- Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, managers, senior management, and all other departments as required
- Able to effectively multi-task while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP, Oracle
- Demonstrated ability to influence management, teams, and individuals
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
- Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) best practices
- Demonstrated experience working with a high demand retail/distributor
- Results oriented with ability to react to situations with a sense of urgency
- Proven track record in the leadership of the material/production planning function
- MPR/ERP experience in a manufacturing/remanufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Bill of Material structures in relation to planning activities
What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
- Position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and operate standard office equipment such as a computer and phone
- Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery, and office machinery
- Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to speak and hear
- <5% travel only as projects require
Pay Range:
$ 48.200,00 - $ 79.500,00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
