Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required in communications, public relations, journalism, graphic design, English or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing external and digital communications for a professional services firm or corporate environment, preferably in the legal or B2B sector.
  • An eye for design and a strong understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, LinkedIn® Campaign Manager, Sprout Social or native analytics), combined with the ability to master new tools quickly.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint and Teams; experience with Cision, Meltwater, Smartsheet, Canva and Camtasia preferred.
  • Proven experience in video production and editing, using tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or similar software.
  • Superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills with expertise in Associated Press writing style; ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format and adapt communication style and tone to relevant audiences.
  • Ability to work independently with a positive, entrepreneurial, problem-solving attitude; ability to meet competing deadlines and shift priorities as needed.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident, dynamic personality and a willingness to build relationships and collaborate across the broader business services teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment and navigating ambiguity with confidence and creativity.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Communications team on the development and implementation of external-facing communications plans to promote the firm's services, achievements and values.
  • Manages the firm’s social media accounts ensuring consistent branding and messaging; create and maintain a comprehensive content calendar.
  • Ideates and produces engaging multimedia content, including videos, graphics, animations and testimonial videos aligned with the firm’s visual brand and collaborates with in-house creative team on integrated campaigns.
  • Serves as a trusted partner throughout the entire public relations cycle: Liaises with attorney and business leaders to identify story opportunities, draft and pitch press releases and story ideas, coordinate interview opportunities with the media, draft briefing notes for attorney interviewees, facilitate interviews and track coverage.
  • Nurtures strong relationships with internal attorney stakeholders, the firm’s social media audience, and key reporters across business, legal and other trade press.
  • Creates media pitches and executes ideas that position the firm's attorneys as thought leaders through bylined article placement, social media tactics, media interviews and speaking engagements.
  • Partners with the Events team to pitch major events to the media and promote them on social media.
  • Under the guidance of the firm’s Public Relations Manager, evaluates media opportunities for potential client conflicts and work to secure the appropriate clearances for media engagement.
  • Tracks and analyzes performance metrics for media mentions, social media and marketing initiatives; produces monthly analytics reports to measure efficacy of campaigns and proactively identifies opportunities to increase SEO, engagement and reach.
  • Creates and delivers training materials for attorneys on external communication best practices.
  • Regularly attends industry webinars and research best practices to contribute ideas and insight for new initiatives across external communications initiatives.
  • Works on special projects as assigned.
