Requirements
- Expertise in developing and implementing Java-based web services, primarily using the REST model.
- Five to seven years of Java web services development experience.
- Ten or more years of Java development experience.
- Experience with major open-source Java tools such as Tomcat, WildFly, JAX-RS, Mule, and Apache ODE.
- Experience developing, deploying, testing, and maintaining technical assets in a Service-Oriented Architecture environment involving web services and integration.
- Experience with build and development tools such as Gradle and Maven.
- Experience with Java Persistence API using tools such as Hibernate or OpenJPA.
- Knowledge of Lua and Groovy is a plus.
- Experience with SOAP is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and translate business needs into appropriate solutions.
- Work with the architecture team on technical evaluations, solutions, and design discussions.
- Design, build, test, and deploy highly scalable, high-volume Java-based web services following a traditional REST model.
- Perform code reviews and mentor team members on proper approaches to web services development.
- Work both in a team environment and as an individual contributor.
- Support complex projects or programs from a software-development perspective to drive the development of multiple applications.
- Support the team in achieving priorities, goals, and strategies with key stakeholders.
- Provide objective advice, expertise, and specialist support to create value, maximize growth, or improve clients' business performance.
- Ensure development activities remain on a path to deliver benefits realization.
- Collaborate with key functional partners in implementing initiatives.
- Recognize solutions and determine when issues require escalation to management.
Desired Qualifications
