Pokemon GO leak suggests new in-game auto-catching item is in development. Pokemon GO dataminers have discovered code for an Explorer Gadget, an in-game item that automatically catches Pokemon and spins PokeStops even when the app is closed, though it would be limited to one use per day and may be locked behind paid content. No official confirmation from Scopely has been made. Discover more Track Business News Download Video Games action rpg A new leak from reliable Pokemon GO dataminers PokeMiners has revealed that Scopely may be working on a brand-new in-game item that could allow players to automatically catch Pokemon and spin PokeStops - no external hardware required. Discovered buried in the game's code, the item is called the "Explorer Gadget" and is described as "A gadget that automatically throws Pokeballs and spins PokeStops for you while exploring." What sets it apart from existing accessories is its ability to function even when the Pokemon GO app is closed, a feature that could prove enormously appealing to players who want to make progress on the go without actively using their phones. There is a notable catch, however. Unlike the Pokemon GO Plus+, the popular $100 physical accessory launched in 2023 that can be used multiple times throughout the day, the Explorer Gadget would be limited to a single use per day. The Plus+ also carries the added benefit of pairing with Pokemon Sleep, giving it a broader utility that the Explorer Gadget may not match. Discover more Play PC Games digital games Join PlayStation Plus The Explorer Gadget's distribution method remains uncertain, but early speculation points to it potentially being locked behind paid passes or sold exclusively through the in-game shop. That prospect has already drawn concern from the community, particularly in light of the Gold Bottle Caps released in June 2025, which were only accessible through a premium limited-event pass, effectively locking free-to-play players out entirely. The leak arrives during Pokemon GO's current Memories in Motion season, which has brought a range of additions including Daily Discoveries and increased shiny encounter rates from Raids and Eggs. With Pokemon GO Fest 2026 on the horizon and the game rapidly approaching its 10th anniversary since its 2016 launch, anticipation around new features is running high. In the nearer term, players have a packed schedule ahead. Tinkatink's first-ever Community Day is set for April 11, featuring the Charged Attack Gigaton Hammer. The following week brings Sustainability Week from April 14 to 20, during which Gen 8 Pokemon Silicobra will make its Pokemon GO debut. A Hatch Day event on April 18 will let players hatch Riolu from 2km Eggs at half the usual distance. Flittle and Espathra are also expected to join the game in the coming months, though no official release dates have been announced. The Memories in Motion season itself wraps up on June 2. Pokémon GO brings back Armored Mewtwo for September 2026. Pokémon GO is getting one amazing send-off for GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, as the devs are adding Armored Mewtwo back into the game. Published Mon, 31 Aug 2026 07:13:09 -0500 Article summary. * Pokémon GO is bringing back Armored Mewtwo for the first time since 2020 during GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale. * Armored Mewtwo will appear in five-star raids on September 5 and 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. * Scopely revealed the Armored Mewtwo return during PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. * Shiny Armored Mewtwo will not be available, making this limited Pokémon GO raid return all about the standard form. Yesterday evening, during PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, Scopely made a major announcement that sent the crowd reeling, as Armored Mewtwo is returning to Pokémon GO for a limited-time event. This is the first time the character will appear in the game since 2020, as the devs have kept this one under lock and key for special occasions only. And with this being the 10th Anniversary of the mobile title, it seems like this might be one of those occasions. Armored Mewtwo will appear in five-star raids during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, which is set to take place on both Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, 2026, running from 10 am to 6 pm local time, wherever you may happen to live. You should take this as your one and only shot to contend with this character ever again, as Bleeding Cool is sure Bleeding Cool won't see them for several more years after this. Bleeding Cool has a few more details and the teaser trailer for you here, as Bleeding Cool wish you luck this coming weekend. Armored Mewtwo, as seen in the movie Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution (released in 2019), is a version of Mewtwo whose power is suppressed and held back by armor. Even so, Armored Mewtwo possesses overwhelming strength that surpasses other Pokémon. Adventure Effects for Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y. Mewtwo will also be able to use unique Adventure Effects when it first learns these moves. Mega Mewtwo X will be able to use Dynamic Punch+ and Mega Mewtwo Y will be able to use Future Sight+. Once unlocked, Mewtwo will also be able to use these Adventure Effects when it isn't Mega Evolved. Trainers will need to use Mega Energy and Candy to activate these effects. Dynamic Punch+ Adventure Effect. Activate Mega Mewtwo X's Adventure Effect to increase your Pokémon's damage against Mega-Evolved Pokémon in Mega Raids and Super Mega Raids. In Super Mega Raids, this Adventure Effect will also allow Trainers to break two shields at once instead of one. Future Sight+ Adventure Effect. Activate Mega Mewtwo Y's Adventure Effect to see into the future and reveal Pokémon that will appraise as three-star or higher when entering a Pokémon encounter. Upon entering an encounter with a Pokémon while the Future Sight+ Adventure Effect is active, the encountered Pokémon will glow if it has high stats.
Scopely wins Best Publisher at the Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2026. Monopoly Go, Pokémon Go, Pikmin Bloom and more make for one strong portfolio August 26, 2026 * Scopely won Best Publisher at the Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2026. * The ceremony took place in Cologne, Germany on August 25th. Scopely has won Best Publisher at the Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2026 in association with Samsung Gaming Hub. Celebrating mobile game makers from around the globe, PocketGamer.biz hosted this year's awards ceremony in Cologne last night. Taking place during Gamescom week, the show served as a celebration of the creators, game makers, movers and shakers keeping mobile hot and happening in 2026. We spent the night cheering on finalists across more than 20 categories, which began with nominations from the industry before the public voted on a shortlist. Best Publisher Scopely swept up three wins at this year's Mobile Games Awards, named as Best Publisher and Company Culture Champion, as well as earning Best Forever Franchise with Monopoly Go. The goliath of a game has kept on engaging players and winning their wallets ever since its 2023 release, well worth the wait after eight years of development. And development certainly didn't end there. In the past year, the game's seen a wide range of in-game events and seasons ranging from a Simpsons crossover to a real-world community event at Dough Fest. It's even taken community interaction to an unprecedented high with Pets Season reimagining real players' animals as in-game stickers. Then there's Monopoly Go Chat, which released globally on March 31st and has exceeded even Scopely's high expectations. This companion messaging app to Monopoly Go surpassed 25 million messages and 6.5m groups within two months of global launch. Beyond Monopoly Go, Scopely's publishing prowess also now extends to some of the biggest names in the geolocation genre - and they're only getting more successful after that $3.5 billion deal with Niantic. Pikmin Bloom, for example, has skyrocketed to record revenue with a 902% Taiwanese spending surge, helping global monthly player spend peak at more than double its previous record. Meanwhile, this summer has seen Pokémon Go celebrate its 10th anniversary, a major achievement in the world of mobile games. The first free Go Fest alongside the anniversary helped make July one of the game's most lucrative periods in history. With a portfolio like this, it's easy to see how Scopely scooped up Best Publisher. Honourable mentions go to SayGames and Unico Studio. Check out the full list of winners here.

Pokemon Go reveals first Twilight Trails season details, including new Megas & long-awaited Gen 9 debut. August 25, 2026, 10:30am Today is shaping up to be a pretty big day for Pokemon Go fans. The latest in-game event has begun, bringing two new adorable costumed Pikachu to the game. But apparently that wasn't enough excitement for one day. Scopely Explore has also unveiled the first real details about the next new season in Pokemon Go. The Twilight Trails season begins on September 8th and runs through December 1st. It's going to bring some exciting new content to the long-running mobile game. While I'm sure there's plenty more to come, the first details for the next season include some great additions, including new Megas and at least one much-needed Pokemon debut. As is tradition at this point, Twilight Trails will usher in the latest seasonal GO Pass. Major milestones this time around include increased Gift limits, extended Adventure Incense duration, and added XP and Stardust from hatching eggs. Of course, Comicbook'll also have a seasonal change-up to the egg pool to go along with that bonus, so hatching eggs is about to feel exciting again. The new season will also bring more Mega Evolved Pokemon to Pokemon Go, including at least two confirmed additions from Legends: Z-A. But most important of all, at least for my fellow dog Pokemon enthusiasts, Comicbook is finally getting Paldea's goodest boy, Maschiff, and its evolutions. New mega-evolved Pokemon and confirmed debuts in Pokemon Go: Twilight Trails. Comicbook don't yet have exact dates for its latest debuts in Pokemon Go. However, today's reveal includes details about some of the new Pokemon and Mega Evolutions Comicbook can expect to see this season. In terms of new Megas, Comicbook is getting the debuts of Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure. The blog post also teases "and more," so Comicbook'll likely see some additional new Megas in Pokemon Go before the season ends. New Max Pokemon will also be headed to the game, including Dynamax Sneasel, Dynamax Rhyhorn, and Dynamax Sizzlipede. As for brand-new entries in the Pokedex, Scopely is being pretty tight-lipped on the whole. Thus far, they've confirmed just one new line headed to Pokemon Go during the Twilight Trails season. At long last, Maschiff and its evolutions will be available in Pokemon Go at some point this season. The season description teases more Pokemon originally from Paldea, so it's quite possible that Maschiff is just the beginning of its Gen 9 debuts for this season. All Community Day dates for the Twilight Trails season in Pokemon Go. Of course, a new season reveal isn't complete without those Community Day dates for its calendars. This season's community days will take place on the following dates: * September 12th: Community Day Classic * October 10th: Community Day * November 21st: Community day Thus far, Comicbook don't know which Pokemon will feature in these Community Days. That information is usually revealed a bit closer to the date, so stay tuned to see which Pokemon Comicbook'll be able to easily Shiny Hunt this month. The new season will also bring about a series of new events, plus other surprises to come. You can read the full details, including this season's updated egg pool, over at the official Twilight Trails seasonal landing page.
