Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Active or eligible state medical license.
  • DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Expertise in inpatient obstetric management and labor and delivery.
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity situations.
  • Ability to work independently in a hospital-based setting.
  • Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Responsibilities
  • Provide in-hospital coverage for labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum patients.
  • Manage obstetric emergencies, including operative vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
  • Perform obstetric and gynecologic procedures within the scope of training.
  • Provide inpatient gynecologic consultations and surgical assistance as needed.
  • Triage and evaluate obstetric patients presenting to the hospital.
  • Collaborate with community OB/GYN physicians, midwives, and advanced practice providers.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and outpatient providers regarding care plans.
  • Ensure timely documentation and accurate medical records in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and peer review.
  • Adhere to evidence-based clinical guidelines, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide coverage during nights, weekends, and holidays based on the scheduling model.
