About the job
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
- Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Active or eligible state medical license.
- DEA registration or eligibility.
- Expertise in inpatient obstetric management and labor and delivery.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity situations.
- Ability to work independently in a hospital-based setting.
- Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
- Provide in-hospital coverage for labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum patients.
- Manage obstetric emergencies, including operative vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Perform obstetric and gynecologic procedures within the scope of training.
- Provide inpatient gynecologic consultations and surgical assistance as needed.
- Triage and evaluate obstetric patients presenting to the hospital.
- Collaborate with community OB/GYN physicians, midwives, and advanced practice providers.
- Communicate with patients, families, and outpatient providers regarding care plans.
- Ensure timely documentation and accurate medical records in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and peer review.
- Adhere to evidence-based clinical guidelines, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
- Provide coverage during nights, weekends, and holidays based on the scheduling model.
