Requirements
  • A Master's degree from an accredited university is required, with CACREP accreditation for counseling programs.
  • A drug and alcohol certification such as MRAS, CSAC, or CAP is required.
  • An independent-level clinical license is required, such as LCSW, LMHC/LPC, LMFT, or a clinical/counseling psychologist license at the PhD level.
  • Must be able to operate general office equipment, including computers, phones, and related media and information devices, on most or all workdays.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is required.
  • Ability to work rapidly under time pressure for long periods to meet deadlines.
  • Required certifications and licenses include CADAC, CAP, CSAC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, MRAS, or PSY, as applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Implement the Adolescent Support and Counseling Services Program at assigned school-based locations.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of referred adolescents and families.
  • Develop individualized service plans addressing needs identified in comprehensive assessments, with goals, methods, and techniques tailored to each client.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling as necessary.
  • Promote resiliency and reduce mental health disorders and adolescent substance abuse.
  • Develop general life skills through a proactive approach.
  • Engage in community-wide drug awareness campaigns.
  • Interface with community key stakeholders, including the garrison command, on adolescent substance-use issues and trends within the community.
