Requirements
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs-accredited program is required.
  • Must hold valid Basic Life Support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and First Aid certifications.
  • Must hold an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; assistance with obtaining the card is available upon acceptance of the offer.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits, ensuring all necessary forms are completed, reviewed, and properly integrated into the patient’s chart.
  • Welcome patients, conduct check-in, and escort them to examination rooms.
  • Perform delegated medical tasks, including recording vital signs, medical history, and reasons for the visit, and document all information in the patient’s medical record.
  • Conduct visual acuity screenings as part of routine physical examinations.
  • Administer injections and assist providers with medical procedures.
  • Perform blood draws, collect specimens, conduct urine drug screenings, and communicate results.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms between appointments, including stocking necessary supplies and disposing of expired supplies and biohazard waste.
  • Work collaboratively with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree in a health-related field or certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • At least six months of healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electronic record-keeping systems such as electronic medical records, billing software, insurance carrier portals, and spreadsheets is preferred.
