Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post-doctoral student, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities.
  • Must be able to work well with diverse populations, including differences in gender, race, and sexual orientation.
  • Must demonstrate technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable job attendance.
  • Must exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships.
  • Must use independent judgment when evaluating options and making sound decisions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in an office or open-office environment with moderate noise.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing public and volunteer educational and training materials.
  • Work with volunteer presenters to inform community groups and others about available presentations.
  • Apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to assist with AARP North Dakota social media accounts, including video production.
  • Capture video and engaging stories at events for future promotion and storytelling about AARP's work in North Dakota.
  • Write draft stories for the state webpage, news releases, newsletter stories, social media posts, and emails to members and volunteers.
  • Assist in delivering community events as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with creating and editing videos and knowledge of multiple social media platforms.
