Requirements
  • Four or more years of experience in multifamily property management, compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs.
  • Working knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, or other affordable housing compliance.
  • Familiarity with California and Bay Area rental law, eviction procedure, and Fair Housing.
  • Strong systems and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Build compliance systems, calendars, and audits to prevent audit findings, eviction dismissals, and regulatory exposure.
  • Own subsidy program compliance, including recertifications and agency reporting for LIHTC, Section 8, and affordable housing programs.
  • Own regulatory, safety, and insurance compliance across the portfolio, including certificates of insurance and inspection deadlines.
  • Review application and leasing compliance, keeping screening and lease decisions consistent and defensible.
  • Oversee evictions and Fair Housing reviews for roughly 20 to 30 cases a year.
  • Manage contract compliance, including renewals, service levels, and vendor obligations.
  • Maintain legal and pre-legal documentation in an organized, discovery-ready state.
  • Own the master compliance calendars and reporting that keep leadership informed.
  • Track compliance metrics monthly, aiming for zero audit findings, no eviction dismissals, no missed recertifications or filings, no lapsed insurance, and complete legal files ready on demand.

  • Yardi experience is a plus.
