About the job

Requirements
  • 2–4 years of experience administering a construction project management platform such as ProjectSight, Procore, e-Builder, or a similar platform, ideally in a general contracting, electrical, or specialty trade contracting environment.
  • Experience with integrations between a construction project management tool and an enterprise resource planning or accounting system; Vista or Viewpoint experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction project workflows, including budgets, commitments such as subcontracts and purchase orders, change orders, requests for information, and submittals.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training materials and delivering training to varied field and office audiences.
  • Experience auditing configurations and data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Analytics, Accounting or enterprise resource planning, Operations, and Project teams.
  • Experience with Vista or Trimble/Viewpoint enterprise resource planning is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain ProjectSight project templates, workflows, custom fields, security roles, and portfolio settings, ensuring configurations are standardized and scalable across projects.
  • Plan and execute rollouts of new configurations, features, and workflow changes by communicating changes to stakeholders, coordinating timing with project teams, and validating changes after rollout.
  • Audit projects for configuration compliance and data quality, monitor usage across project teams, identify adoption gaps, and follow up with teams or leadership as needed.
  • Own the ProjectSight–Vista integration end to end, including portfolio-to-company mapping, budget code and commitment synchronization, change order flow, and units-of-measure alignment.
  • Monitor integration synchronization errors and data mismatches between ProjectSight and Vista and proactively reconcile and resolve them in both systems.
  • Partner with Analytics, Accounting, and Project Controls teams to ensure data flowing between ProjectSight and Vista supports accurate downstream reporting, including Power BI.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for new hires and existing project managers, superintendents, field staff, and accounting staff on ProjectSight functionality, standards, and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for system use.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Trimble/Viewpoint support for troubleshooting, upgrades, and new feature evaluation.
  • Act as the first line of support for internal ProjectSight questions and issues and escalate to Trimble support when necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Trimble ProjectSight certification or an equivalent platform administration credential.
  • Prior experience supporting a system rollout or migration, such as moving teams onto a new project management tool or implementing a major configuration change.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting tools used to consume ProjectSight and Vista data.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or another specialty trade contracting environment.
  • Basic SQL or data-querying skills for diagnosing integration synchronization issues between ProjectSight and Vista.
  • Change management experience and comfort driving adoption of new tools and workflows across distributed field and office teams.
  • PMP, CAPM, or a similar project management certification.
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Hays Electrical Services

View

Hays Electrical Services installs electrical systems for large construction projects across the United States, from hotels and hospitals to apartment towers and data centers. Many of its jobs are renovations inside buildings that stay open, such as busy hotels, an active hospital and an airport terminal, so crews phase work around guests and patients. Building owners and general contractors hire it for a project's electrical scope, from estimating and 3D design coordination through prefabrication, installation and later service calls. Its crews also install low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, security equipment and data cabling. Hays Electrical Services was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Hays says growth is creating jobs: it cites 146% corporate headcount growth over two years, from LinkedIn workforce data.
  • One Dallas data center posting adds incentive pay: Hays lists journeymen at up to $48 an hour plus $10 hourly.
  • Injuries have not cost crews workdays: Hays reports a zero lost-time injury rate for 2023 through 2025.

What critics are saying

  • Some field leadership jobs mean travel: Hays posts traveling foreman and superintendent roles listed as remote or nationwide.
  • Solar contracts put cash at risk: Hays' utility solar managers track contract penalties and retainage, money withheld until completion.
  • Apprenticeship means night school: classes meet on set weekdays from 5 to 9 PM, about 40 weeks a year.

What makes Hays Electrical Services unique

  • Power-ups have one gatekeeper: on data center jobs, Hays' Energy Marshal controls energizing and lockout of circuits.
  • Hays trains its own electricians: a four-year apprenticeship it co-created, registered with the Labor Department, admits only Hays employees.
  • Hays is set up for out-of-state work: the contractor reports licenses in 38 states.
