AGCF opens second boutique at St. Regis Longboat Key, reuniting Gucci family legacy with hotel brand after 65 years

Alexandra Gucci Zarini's luxury accessories house AGCF is opening its second boutique inside The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort in Florida. The opening marks AGCF's first East Coast location, following its flagship store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The move reconnects the Gucci family with St. Regis more than six decades after Aldo Gucci, Zarini's grandfather, opened a store at The St. Regis New York in 1960. AGCF operates as a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation, with a portion of proceeds supporting charity partners focused on child protection. The boutique, located in the resort's lobby, will offer handbags, leather goods, silk scarves, jewellery, and eyewear. The opening coincides with AGCF's partnership with the World Childhood Foundation, with 20% of proceeds from its Color of Hope collection supporting Childhood USA.

Marriott and IOI Properties Group have signed four new-build hotels in Malaysia, adding 888 rooms across Putrajaya, Langkawi, Sepang and Johor Bahru. Marriott International and IOI Properties Group Berhad (IOIPG) have signed agreements for four new hotels in Malaysia. Together, the projects will add 888 rooms across Putrajaya, Langkawi, Sepang and Johor Bahru. The Marriott Malaysia expansion covers both luxury and select-service brands. The agreements deepen a longstanding relationship between the two companies. Marriott currently manages seven IOIPG-owned hotels across seven brands in Malaysia. Now, the partners plan to expand into additional destinations and market segments. W Langkawi and Ritz-Carlton expand luxury pipeline. Marriott and IOIPG plan to open the 173-room W Langkawi in 2030. The project will introduce the W Hotels brand to Langkawi. Its beachfront site sits along Pantai Kok, near the Langkawi Sky Bridge and Langkawi International Airport. The partners also plan to open The Ritz-Carlton, Putrajaya in 2032. The 215-room hotel will occupy part of a 70-storey mixed-use tower. That tower forms a key element of Phase 3 at IOI Resort City. IOI Resort City already combines retail, hospitality, residential and recreational uses. Moreover, its location in the southern Klang Valley corridor provides access to Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The new hotel will therefore add another luxury option to Putrajaya's hospitality market. Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, said: "Malaysia continues to be an important growth market for Marriott International, and our longstanding relationship with IOI Properties Group Berhad has enabled us to expand our portfolio across a diverse range of brands and destinations," said Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International. The wider project will also include retail, office and residential components. The hotel will stand around 12 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. In addition, the nearby Salak Tinggi Express Rail Link station provides connections to KLIA and Kuala Lumpur Sentral. Marriott expects the property to serve corporate, leisure and meetings demand. Discover more Geographic Reference Trip planning AI Aloft by Marriott Johor Bahru Plentong will also offer 250 rooms and open in 2030. The project will mark Aloft's debut in Johor Bahru. It will form part of IOI @ Plentong, which combines retail and residential uses. The location provides access to Pasir Gudang Industrial Area and Johor Port. It also connects with Johor Bahru city centre and the Johor-Singapore Causeway. As Johor attracts further investment, the partners expect demand from both business and leisure travellers. Partnership grows across Malaysia. The four hotels join The Westin Puchong in Marriott and IOIPG's wider Malaysia development pipeline. The partners signed that 324-room project in July 2026. They plan to open it in 2031 within IOI Rio City in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Selangor. IOI Rio City represents a MYR12 billion integrated mixed-use development. Consequently, the five hotel projects extend the partnership across several different demand segments and destinations. Dato Lee Yeow Seng, Group Chief Executive Officer, IOI Properties Group, said: "Our relationship with Marriott International reflects a shared vision of establishing hospitality offerings which complement our integrated townships and developments creating values and socio-economic impacts to the communities and stakeholders that we serve," said Dato Lee Yeow Seng, Group Chief Executive Officer, IOI Properties Group. "The signing of the four hotels cements our position as a significant hospitality owner as this will bring to a total of fifteen hotels owned by the Group, which presently are and will be managed by Marriott International. Our current nine hotels are already in operations while these four and The Westin Puchong which was signed on 30 July 2026 as well as W Singapore - Marina View, are expected to complete their construction, progressively in the coming years," Dato Lee added. By 2032, IOIPG aims to grow its hospitality portfolio to 4,648 rooms. Its hotel operations will span Malaysia, Singapore and the People's Republic of China. The company currently owns nine operating hotels, while further developments remain in the pipeline. Overall, the Marriott Malaysia expansion combines island leisure, urban luxury and select-service accommodation. It also strengthens the companies' joint pipeline in Greater Kuala Lumpur and Johor. At the same time, the Langkawi project extends the partnership into one of Malaysia's major leisure destinations. DoorDash expands India workforce with 3,000-job Hyderabad tech center.

DoorDash expands India workforce with 3,000-job Hyderabad tech center. Several other U.S. employers including Costco, McDonald's and Marriott have opened offshore capability centers in Hyderabad in recent months, as India's GCC sector grows to 2.36 million workers. U.S. food delivery firm DoorDash will create 3,000 jobs in India over the next two years through a global technology hub it opened in the southern city of Hyderabad on Wednesday, the Telangana state government said. The centre will initially house teams handling customer support and general and administrative functions, the release added. Advertisements The hub is DoorDash's second tech office in India after Pune, where it has software, data and analytics operations acquired through its 2021 purchase of robotics startup Chowbotics for an undisclosed sum. Companies are exploring alternative avenues in offshore tech hubs, called global capability centres (GCCs), to cut costs and reduce their dependence on external IT contractors. Advertisements The new customer support-based operations centre will be DoorDash's third such service hub globally, alongside Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City, and will add 500 professionals initially. DoorDash joins companies such as Costco, McDonald's, Charles Schwab, Marriott and Southwest Airlines that have opened offshore centres in Hyderabad over the past few months. India has emerged as the world's largest GCC hub, with more than 2,100 centres employing about 2.36 million people and generating nearly $100 billion in revenue, according to a 2026 report by Nasscom-Zinnov.
