Requirements
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of reinforcement learning, sensor-data modeling or anomaly detection, vision-language models, or continual or online learning.
  • Experience building monitoring, evaluation, or data pipelines for a live machine-learning system.
  • Experience designing and interpreting production experiments, including A/B tests, canary rollouts, and staged fleet deployments, with sufficient statistical rigor to distinguish regression from noise.
  • Strong Python and PyTorch or JAX skills, with comfort working with large multimodal datasets and distributed compute such as Slurm or GPU clusters.
  • Ability to turn a fleet-scale data investigation into a clear recommendation that researchers and operators can act on.
Responsibilities
  • Design and ship pipelines that turn real deployment data, including successes, failures, and teleoperation corrections, into targeted fine-tuning and online policy improvement.
  • Mine high-frequency multimodal sensor and video data across fleet episodes to identify failure modes, drift, and regressions before they become customer-visible.
  • Apply reinforcement learning, including offline reinforcement learning, reinforcement-learning fine-tuning, and reward modeling from human and teleoperation feedback, to improve policies from real-world deployment data.
  • Build automated fleet monitoring that flags anomalies, near-failures, and out-of-distribution scenes in real time and determines what requires human intervention versus system self-correction.
  • Characterize and close generalization gaps as robots move to new sites, lighting conditions, layouts, and objects.
  • Build evaluation harnesses and data-selection strategies that make first-day performance at a new customer site predictable.
  • Partner with Research, Data, and Deployment teams to turn findings into shipped improvements, from data-analysis notebooks to production monitoring dashboards and deployed model updates.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with robot fleets or other physically deployed autonomous systems in the field rather than only in simulation.
  • Experience building or fine-tuning perception or foundation models for automated monitoring, captioning, or anomaly detection.
  • A background in statistical methods for detecting anomalies and drift, including change-point detection and forecasting, applied to sensor or telemetry data.
  • Experience with human-in-the-loop learning, including reward modeling from operator corrections, active learning, or data curation from failure cases.
