Requirements
  • A B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on complex low-voltage electrical systems or electronics design, focused on low-voltage batteries or wireless vehicle subsystems, is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a mass-production setting launching new products involving complex electronic modules is required.
  • Strong fundamentals in low-voltage electrical systems, automotive network protocols including CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostic standards including UDS and OBD are required.
  • Proven debugging and diagnostic skills across electrical, software, and network domains are required.
  • Experience with requirements management using industry-standard software platforms is required.
  • Teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the transition of components from design through high-volume manufacturing, ensuring robust and scalable production processes including end-of-line diagnostics, VIN programming, and commissioning routines.
  • Own the design and functional validation of the low-voltage battery and keyfobs, driving integration and testing across bench, labcar, and vehicle environments.
  • Develop components with Controls, Security, Software, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to achieve objectives within budget and program timelines.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for electrical integration issues across assigned components, providing expertise to resolve critical concerns impacting vehicle development.
  • Partner with software and supplier teams to develop, integrate, and validate application software, bootloaders, diagnostics content, and over-the-air-compatible update workflows for assigned components.
  • Support vehicle assembly lines during development phases, validate system-level changes, and drive issue resolution to ensure on-time delivery and smooth production ramp-up.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures, DVP&R strategies, and testing protocols for assigned components.
  • Perform vehicle-level testing and debugging, including data analysis, and organize cross-functional reviews across low-voltage battery and wireless vehicle access domains.
  • Perform trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware, software, electrical, radio-frequency, and network specifications focused on industrialization and manufacturability.
  • Report feature development progress and maturity at key program milestones.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products and with vehicle prototyping is preferred.
  • Experience with radio-frequency-based or wireless vehicle access systems and associated regulatory certification such as FCC, Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-Wideband, or Near Field Communication is preferred.
  • Familiarity with secure provisioning, credential loading, and cybersecurity requirements for vehicle access or related electronic components is preferred.
  • Experience with Failure Mode Avoidance methods such as DV&P, DFMEA, WCCA, and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with over-the-air update workflows, bootloader management, and in-vehicle software update processes is preferred.
  • A systems-based approach to design and development with a focus on execution and continuous improvement is preferred.
