  • A track record of shipping simulation code that others rely on, in an engine, in industry, or in a research codebase used beyond its authors.
  • Solid high-performance computing programming experience on CPU and/or GPU, with practical understanding of what makes numerical methods fast beyond asymptotic complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Develop production-ready simulation capabilities for Genesis-World that support the company's internal needs and real robot-learning pipelines.
  • Improve simulation speed through larger stable timesteps, selective fidelity, adaptive methods, and structure-aware solvers.
  • Expand the engine to support additional physical phenomena and materials, including fluids, human animation, airflow, gravel, tendons, and organs.
  • Develop realistic models for contact, friction, deformation, energy, actuation, and materials.
  • Build extensible coupled multi-physics solvers with two-way, constraint-based interactions and support for new solver implementations.
  • Scale simulation from workstation to factory and city-scale environments, including thousands of interacting entities and batched environments.
  • Develop physics level of detail so that simulation fidelity adapts to agent interaction and visibility.
  • Support heterogeneous parallel environments with different bodies, joints, and collision geometries.
  • Implement adaptive timesteps per island using error-based control, Runge-Kutta Dopri5, and Time-of-Impact stepping during collision detection.
  • Improve coupling between heterogeneous grey-box solvers using methods such as the alternating direction method of multipliers.
  • Improve the scalability of rigid constraint solvers.
  • Unify hydro-elastic compliance, unilateral constraints, and sequential impulses within a generic contact-resolution framework.
  • Handle closed kinematic loops intrinsically without constraints for improved numerical stability and speed.
  • Write physics in Python and use Quadrants to execute it across supported compute backends.
  • Validate simulation methods using analytical closed forms, other engines, and real-world data.
Desired Qualifications
  • Publications in simulation, graphics, or robotics venues such as SIGGRAPH, ICRA, IROS, CoRL, or RSS.
  • Contributions to an open-source physics engine.

Robot brain developers still in 'GPT-2 era' as Unitree's $66B valuation nearly halves

Physical AI is advancing rapidly as developers work to improve robot capabilities beyond current limitations. At the recent Actuate conference, attendance tripled to 1,500 participants since its 2023 launch, reflecting growing industry interest. Harry Mellsop of Antioch describes physical AI as being in its "GPT-2 era", requiring more data and computational power to progress. The sector faces a "robotics data crisis" — a shortage of high-quality training data needed for AI models. Genesis AI raised $105 million in seed funding this year. Companies focusing on specific tasks, like Gritt in solar farms and Bedrock in excavation, are successfully deploying robots, whilst general-purpose humanoid robots remain confined to laboratories. Autonomous vehicles lead the field, partly due to easier data collection. Tesla advances with its Optimus robot, whilst Wayve and Uber have opened robotics labs for humanoid development.

Genesis AI and LG CNS partner to deploy general-purpose robots across manufacturing and logistics operations

Genesis AI, a full-stack robotics company, has partnered with LG CNS to deploy general-purpose robots across manufacturing and logistics operations. The multi-phase partnership will begin by evaluating Genesis AI's first robot, Eno, at LG operations in the US and across LG CNS's industrial customer portfolio. Genesis AI builds AI-powered robots capable of performing complex physical tasks across various environments. The company's GENE AI foundation model enables generalisation across tasks, with each new deployment requiring less data and time than the previous one. The partnership will conduct strategic evaluations across LG CNS's enterprise customers, execute pilot programmes to develop deployment playbooks, and ultimately roll out robots to LG Group affiliates and LG CNS customers globally. LG CNS will provide integration expertise to bring the robots into existing workflows at scale.

Genesis AI unveils Eno, a wheeled general-purpose robot, after raising $105M

Genesis AI, a robotics startup founded in early 2025, has unveiled Eno, a wheeled general-purpose robot with two arms but no legs or head. The company has raised $105 million from Eclipse, Khosla Ventures and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt. Unlike humanoid competitors such as Figure AI and Tesla's Optimus, Eno features a three-panel body that adjusts height and folds when not in use. CEO Zhou Xian said the company plans to produce dozens of robots by year-end, initially targeting manufacturers, logistics companies and laboratories before expanding to service industries and homes. Genesis AI is developing the entire technology stack, including the AI model, training gloves, simulator and robot hardware. The company is deploying wireless gloves to collect data from skilled workers, moving away from teleoperation to generate training data more efficiently.

Ex-Google CEO-backed startup unveils AI-powered industrial robot with LG

Genesis AI, a Paris-based startup backed by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, has unveiled Eno, an industrial robot powered by artificial intelligence developed in partnership with LG Group. The general-purpose robot can reason, adapt and handle tasks beyond predefined programming, according to the company. Schmidt highlighted Eno's decision-making speed and dexterity, demonstrated by its ability to play the piano. The announcement comes as investors increasingly back humanoid robotics ventures. Genesis AI said the robot represents a significant advance in industrial automation capabilities.

Genesis AI hires former X and Tesla execs to lead legal and operations after $105M seed round

Genesis AI has appointed two senior executives as it prepares to launch its first general-purpose robot. Damien Kieran, formerly Chief Legal and Privacy Officer at Sam Altman's Tools for Humanity and Chief Privacy Officer at X, joins as Head of Legal. Pally Kumar becomes Head of Operations, bringing leadership experience from Tesla, Amazon, Lyft and Cobot. Kieran will oversee global legal and policy matters, drawing on his expertise in data protection and emerging technologies. Kumar will scale the company's data collection and manufacturing operations, including initiatives using tactile-sensing gloves to capture human skills data for training robotics systems. The appointments follow Genesis AI's recent $105 million seed funding round, backed by Eclipse, Khosla Ventures and Bpifrance, alongside investors including Eric Schmidt and Xavier Niel.
