Requirements
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in related fields such as Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environment.
- Have a bachelor's degree in Health Science, Industrial Hygiene, Physical Sciences, or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Be a Registered Safety & Health Officer.
- Be a lead auditor or internal auditor of an ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management system.
- Have knowledge of OSHA and EQA regulations and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system requirements.
- Have excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Be willing to work in Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat, Penang.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate compliance with state and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Interface with local government authority agencies on licensing, permitting, audits, and inspections to support successful outcomes and regulatory compliance; recommend priorities to site management for continuous improvement in EHS programs and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain EHS programs and documentation, including legal registers, EHS procedures, checklists and forms, exposure assessment results, chemical registers and chemical safety data sheets, regulated equipment listings, and other legal compliance documents.
- Partner with the site operations team to achieve EHS goals and performance objectives.
- Facilitate, participate in, and lead safety committee meetings.
- Implement programs and initiatives to meet ISO 14001 EMS, local regulatory, and company policy and guideline expectations.
- Use systematic risk assessment and relevant analytical assessment for troubleshooting, incident investigation, root-cause and corrective-action identification, and data-driven decision-making.
- Assist the site operations team with incident and injury investigations to prevent recurrence.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate safety and environmental training, including Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Ergonomics, and other training required by Malaysia EHS regulations.
- Perform ergonomic audits and recommend ergonomic equipment to prevent and reduce injuries.
- Coordinate and implement the emergency response team and emergency response plan.
- Adhere to organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental practices, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of information related to production processes and components, business, and other technology, including materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage, coordinate, and maintain company-wide facilities environmental, health, and safety programs and procedures to eliminate incidents, prevent property loss and damage, and prevent harm to employees and the environment.
- Support employee safety awareness and training, industrial hygiene testing, EHS regulatory-compliance needs assessment, and hazardous-waste management.
- Interface with business-unit managers, leaders, and executive staff on EHS issues; track and report employee EHS programs and incidents.
- Create and manage company-wide EHS strategic plans, policies, and program implementation.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.
- DOSH or DOE competent-person qualifications, such as e-SWISS or ergonomic assessor, may be advantageous.
