Requirements
  • A bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology, such as a Bachelor's of Divinity, Master's of Divinity, or equivalent theology degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a health care setting; hospice experience is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in pastoral ministry.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft programs and comfort entering information into the medical chart (MAR).
  • Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprinting for a criminal background check, and a reference check.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centered spiritual, religious, and emotional care to patients, their family members and loved ones, and staff, including spiritual care and support, prayers, end-of-life care, sacramental resources, grief and bereavement support, and interdisciplinary care.
  • Triage and manage multiple priorities and requests.
  • Provide bereavement services, including calls, visits, and attendance at memorial or celebration-of-life services.
  • Document and submit records and reports of pastoral activities in accordance with state, federal, and Medicare regulations, and prepare necessary information for inclusion in patients' medical records.
  • Complete documentation by mandated deadlines.
  • Support the organization's mission through actions while on duty.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to promote exceptional care.
  • Work evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Travel to patients' residences within the community.
  • Report incidents, accidents, complaints, grievances, and hazardous conditions to the administrator immediately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of pertinent resident care information to protect resident rights, including the right of refusal.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hospice experience is preferred.
