Requirements
  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in architecture.
  • Either registration as an architect or preparedness to take the licensing exam.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Windows, Excel, Bluebeam, Word, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Knowledge of current computer software for architectural renderings and building energy analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainable or green strategies.
  • General understanding and knowledge of construction techniques and constructability.
Responsibilities
  • Perform architectural assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to related architectural tasks.
  • Exercise independent and informed judgment under the supervision of a professional Architect on more complex assignments.
  • Perform design and calculation tasks using standard architectural techniques and procedures.
  • Design more complex projects and portions of non-routine projects under the direction of a Project Architect or other responsible staff member.
  • Assist in preparing project reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates, and permits.
  • Perform computer-aided design drafting to produce routine final drawings.
  • Research discipline-related code issues and present interpretations.
  • Visit construction sites to review, monitor, and report progress and perform construction administration duties.
  • Instruct and mentor junior staff in developing contract documents.
  • Check personal work and work prepared by other team members.
  • Coordinate applicable project discipline drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Assist with client contact and communication for specific projects.
  • Promote communication, cooperation, and quality among staff.
  • Represent the firm professionally.
  • Follow job-specific standards, practices, and quality requirements defined by BRPH quality standards.
