Requirements
- 7+ years experience as an HR Generalist or a similar role
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to make timely, effective, principles-based decisions
- A self-starter who is organized, has high attention to detail and is familiar with a fast-paced startup environment
- Ability to work independently and operate in ambiguity
- Paralegal experience is a plus
- Passion for reinventing retail - a plus if you've worked in retail
Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with corporate policies/practices and with applicable laws and regulations
- Manage compliance with Federal and State Labor Laws, FMLA, Workers Compensation and Unemployment regulations
- Respond to unemployment claims and employment verifications in a timely and accurate manner
- Promptly address all worker separations while remaining compliant to various state DOL reporting requirements
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting to onboarding, for internal open positions
- Partner with leadership on performance reviews, manager coaching, benefits, culture crew, onboarding, and other people ops projects on an as-needed basis
