  • APRN candidates must hold National Board Certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist matching the scope of practice.
  • PA candidates must hold National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • APRN candidates must hold a current Ohio Board of Nursing license.
  • PA candidates must hold a current Ohio License 50RX to practice with prescriptive authority.
  • Candidates must maintain a collaborative or supervision agreement as required through the Ohio Medical Board or Ohio Board of Nursing, including yearly review, quality assurance, and evaluations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Electrophysiology health services using evidence-based practice, research, and current clinical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate advanced medical and/or nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competence, sound clinical judgment, professionalism, effective communication, timely documentation, and ongoing professional development.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and supervising or collaborating physicians.
  • Take histories, conduct clinical assessments and physical examinations, enter orders, document clinically, interpret diagnostic studies, diagnose conditions, treat patients, and evaluate care for the assigned population.
  • Perform physician and APP quality assurance chart reviews, including 25 charts for a new graduate and 10 charts for an established provider, maintained at the practice location.
  • Evaluate signs and symptoms, including age-appropriate changes, and document pertinent positives and negatives.
  • Assess complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients and obtain comprehensive and problem-focused health histories using collateral sources as necessary.
  • Develop and reformulate prioritized differential diagnoses, identify comorbidities, and use diagnostic strategies and technical skills to monitor physiological function and ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in daily team transition huddles to coordinate patient care.
  • Use evidence-based practice and prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments, including medication reconciliation.
  • Implement treatment and referral orders and interpret and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing.
  • Report test interpretations and evaluations to collaborating physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Ensure healthcare practice quality through consultation, collaboration, continuing education, certification, and evaluation.
  • Improve personal practice and participate in interdisciplinary peer and colleague review.
  • Adapt teaching and learning approaches to patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, cognitive, literacy, environmental, and resource-related needs.
  • Identify processes and principles that support quality core metrics and documentation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
