Requirements

Confidentiality in all areas is mandatory.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Two years of experience in this or a related field are required.
The ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English is required.
A valid driver's license is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain insurance clearances as determined by The Salvation Army's insurance company.
The candidate must provide proof of completing child-abuse recognition and reporting training meeting PA Act 153 of 2014 standards within 30 days of employment, with recurrent training every five years thereafter.
The candidate must meet PA Act 153 child-protection clearance requirements, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
The candidate must understand and appreciate The Salvation Army's mission.

Responsibilities

Receive and record temperatures for program meal deliveries.
Clean restrooms, desks, tables, high-traffic areas, touch points, and spills during STEAM Scholars Academy program hours.
Perform cleaning duties according to provided daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, including mopping, wiping walls and glass, and removing trash.
Notify the supervisor of needed repairs or building damage as applicable.
Maintain, clean, and sanitize the facilities used by S2.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Department: Youth and Family Education

Availability of Position: 6/15/26 - 7/23/26

Schedule: Seasonal, Part Time

Reporting Relationship: Directly: Youth and Family Education Administrator; Indirectly: Youth and Family Education Site Coordinator Salary/Grade: $14.50 per hour; 72 NE

Responsibilities

Position Overview: Receive and record temperatures for program meal deliveries. Clean restrooms, desks, tables, high-traffic areas, touch points and spills during STEAM Scholars Academy program hours. Perform cleaning duties following provided daily, weekly and monthly checklists, such as mopping, wiping walls and glass, and removing trash. Duties may include notifying supervisor of need for repairs or building damage. This position will focus on keeping the facilities used by S2 maintained, cleaned and sanitized. Other duties as assigned.

2 years of experience in this or related field

Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English
Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills
Must be a team player
Must be trustworthy and responsible
Must understand and be willing to extend great customer service

Valid Driver’s License and able to obtain insurance clearances as determined by The Salvation Army's insurance company.
As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
