  • A High School Diploma or General Educational Development equivalency is required.
  • Previous experience working in a geriatric environment in a health and fitness capacity is preferred.
  • Previous experience successfully leading individual and group exercise classes, including endurance, strength, and flexibility classes, is required for the described qualification.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • Computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other database-related systems pertinent to the role are required.
  • A Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement is required for transporting residents.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation and delivery of a holistic wellness program for residents, employees, and community members through program development, implementation, delivery, data collection, data entry, evaluation, marketing, and administrative duties.
  • Monitor residents' abilities, participation, interest, and attendance, and assist with records, reports, and appropriate documentation.
  • Motivate residents to attend and participate in wellness activities; devise resident projects, instruct residents, and stimulate their interest.
  • Assist residents with wellness activities and events, including transporting residents within and outside the Village and executing motor and sensory skills activities.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of wellness supplies.
  • Maintain and assist with the resident gift shop, crafts, and wellness projects.
  • Assist in developing and publishing wellness announcements, newsletters, and advertising, and maintain favorable public relations.
  • Assist in developing and planning the events calendar and assist with resident programs in the Wellness Department.
  • Assist in creating, developing, and facilitating a comprehensive preventative and holistic wellness program addressing mind, body, and spirit.
  • Attend, lead, and participate in appropriate departmental and Village meetings, training, and development opportunities, while maintaining supportive working relationships between departments.
  • Follow established employment, departmental, and safety policies and procedures and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or requested.
