Turing appoints Ece Kamar as Chief Technology Officer.

Turing appoints Ece Kamar as Chief Technology Officer. * September 2, 2026 Turing, the superintelligence accelerator driving economic progress from artificial intelligence, named Ece Kamar as Chief Technology Officer today. In her new role, Kamar leads technology and research strategy across Turing's frontier AI and enterprise AI businesses. Furthermore, she will sharpen the connection between frontier lab requirements and enterprise implementation. Ece Kamar's extensive background at Microsoft. Kamar joins Turing after 16 years at Microsoft. Most recently, she served as Corporate Vice President leading the AI Frontiers Lab at Microsoft Research. In that position, Kamar led a non-geographical, mission-focused lab. The lab explores foundation model innovations alongside platform capabilities. Consequently, her team pushed the boundaries of AI capabilities, efficiency, and control. Additionally, Kamar drove research in technologies ranging from base models to agentic systems. She built vital bridges between research teams and product units. Moreover, she delivered cutting-edge technology and high-performing teams to advance corporate goals. Scientifically, Kamar holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University. Previously, she earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from Sabanci University. Leadership perspectives on the new appointment. "Ece is an outstanding addition to our senior leadership team. She has spent her career leading where AI research is headed next, and building the tools, benchmarks, and open source work that help the field get there," said Jonathan Siddharth, CEO and founder of Turing. "Ece has a rare ability to see around corners in AI research and translate that foresight into systems the whole community relies on. As Turing helps frontier labs and enterprises close the gap between research and real-world deployment, Ece will help us build the frontier where both sides meet." "AI research doesn't happen in an isolated academic community anymore. It requires being embedded in the real world with real customers, real users and the real builders of AI systems and Turing is a leader in this," said Kamar. "Turing sits at a unique vantage point, between the frontier labs and where they're headed next, and the many enterprises that are struggling with AI transformation. They want to harness the technology but often don't know how, and I believe that is the most interesting place to innovate. I look forward to working with Jonathan and the team to help organizations navigate this transformation and realize AI's potential to change the world." Expanding real-world AI impact. Turing operates two main business divisions that rely on converting advanced research into practical application. First, Turing helps top AI labs improve model capabilities in software engineering, knowledge work, and STEM fields. Second, Turing helps Fortune 500 companies deploy agentic AI systems with complete sovereignty and governance. As CTO, Kamar shapes the research agenda across both divisions. Therefore, she will oversee new initiatives exploring how AI agents collaborate with each other and human teams.
