Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience with macOS, Linux, iOS, Windows
  • Professional experience in a Systems/IT support position, ideally in a visual effects, editing, VR studio environment
  • Experience with Maya, C4D, Houdini, and Adobe CC applications
  • Knowledge of rendering tools including Deadline and Deadline Cloud
  • Experience with software compilation, package management, virtualization, OS lifecycle management, diagnostic and performance troubleshooting.
  • Scripting skills, including Bash scripting, Python, SQL, and Ruby
  • Broad experience supporting and maintaining common Linux/Unix applications and services, as well as a good understanding of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, AutoFS, Kerberos, PAM, PXE, SNMP, SSH, VNC, X11, HTTP/S, and NTP
  • Basic understanding and operation of professional video cameras such as the Arri Alexa, Sony Venice, Phantom Flex
  • Comfortable creating and following documented procedures, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage large volumes of work efficiently. You’re great at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working in Visual effects, editing and VR studio environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and put new workstations and render machines into operation.
  • Manage deadline render farm configuration, and help artists troubleshoot failed jobs.
  • Bash/DOS/python scripting to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in architectural planning discussions to ensure a consistent roadmap.
  • Spearhead the research and implementation of new cloud technologies.
