Requirements
An associate degree in engineering technology, HVAC, or a related technical field experience is required for the Commissioning Technician track.
One to three years of experience in HVAC, controls, testing and balancing, commissioning, facilities operation, or commercial or industrial construction is required for the Commissioning Technician track.
A basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is required.
The ability to read construction documents is required.

Responsibilities
Support commissioning activities for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation and controls, and central utility plant systems.
Perform field observations, witness systems testing, and verify equipment.
Review construction documents, submittals, sequences of operation, and test procedures.
Document deficiencies, track issue resolution, and prepare commissioning reports.
Coordinate with contractors, facility operators, and project teams during construction and turnover.
Assist with facility investigations and operational optimization studies.
Support owner training verification and systems turnover activities.
Participate in troubleshooting building systems and controls integration issues.
Travel to project sites throughout North Carolina and occasionally surrounding states.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with healthcare, laboratory, mission-critical, and higher-education facilities and central utility plant systems.
Fundamentals of Engineering certification is preferred, and pursuit of the Professional Engineer track is encouraged.
Experience with commissioning standards and procedures.
Building automation experience.
Functional testing experience.

Our commissioning team works directly with owners, contractors, and design teams to ensure complex building systems are reliable, efficient, and operate as intended.
The Commissioning Tech/Engineer supports commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls systems on new construction and existing building projects. The ideal candidate is technically curious, organized, field oriented, and comfortable working directly with contractors, facility staff, and engineers in active construction and operating environments. A typical work week would include 50% time in office and 50% time on client site with very limited overnight travel.

Commissioning Engineer:

3-8 years of experience in commissioning, consulting engineering, controls, or facilities engineering

FE certification preferred; PE track encouraged
