Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to replace or upgrade servers, server components, and main hardware throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Guide and coach less experienced technicians on power distribution units and replacement hardware, including removing and troubleshooting hardware without disturbing critical infrastructure.
  • Guide and instruct less experienced technicians on implementing designed and defined network communications and solutions, and sign off on client configurations.
  • Validate cabling, network-environment builds, and connectivity, verifying that devices are connected and error free.
  • Monitor and assign work in a ticketing environment, implement technical solutions, troubleshoot systems within service-level agreements, identify and escalate trends, and document steps or resolutions.
  • Oversee adherence to standard operating procedures and maintenance operation protocols while ensuring compliance with site and colocation vendor rules.
  • Uphold security procedures and conduct functional testing of security.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, including personal protective equipment, site access, and data-site requirements.
  • Train technicians in advanced fix and repair techniques aligned with corporate objectives and operational data center change-control processes.
  • Identify and analyze recurring problems or trends, escalate issues to senior peers, external experts, and operations teams, and engage global teams on local issues.
  • Lead collaboration with project teams and colocation partners to test and validate electrical and mechanical systems and coordinate site utility requirements.
  • Act as a technical liaison for technical and non-technical teams, providing subject matter expertise to identify and resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
  • Ensure contractors and vendors deliver quality services and meet service-level agreements.
  • Contribute to quality assurance through process creation and training of less experienced peers.
  • Collaborate across teams to lead delivery of impactful work and support critical team objectives.
  • Develop and share procedures to identify and resolve routine and non-routine issues, serving as an escalation point for the team.
  • Recommend, implement, and share improvements to complex processes, protocols, and workflows.
  • Build knowledge, learn new skills and tools, stay current with trends and best practices, and use feedback and advanced training to improve skills.
