Founded in 2010, TGRP provides middle-market clients in Colorado with office of the CFO services, technical accounting, IPO readiness, transaction support, and staffing and recruiting services. The firm has approximately 70 professionals. The transaction, which closed on October 1, will support the formation of Aprio's office of the CFO. The new practice combines Aprio's accounting advisory and talent advisory capabilities under one platform. "By combining TGRP Solutions' technical accounting capabilities with Aprio's Office of the CFO vision, we are creating a more connected experience that helps companies navigate complexity and unlock opportunity," said Richard Kopelman, CEO of Aprio. TGRP leaders Mark Reister, Jim Lockhart, and Doug Nassif will join Aprio as partners. Founded in 2010, TGRP serves middle-market businesses, private equity-backed companies and publicly traded enterprises across Colorado. Its services include chief financial officer support, technical accounting, preparation for initial public offerings, transaction support and staffing and recruiting. TGRP's employees will join Aprio's advisory practice. Mark Reister, TGRP's founder and president, Jim Lockhart, managing director of consulting, and Doug Nassif, director of placement and contract solutions, will join Aprio as partners. The acquisition supports Aprio's creation of an Office of the CFO practice, combining accounting advisory and staffing services. The practice will provide outsourced and part-time financial leadership, technical accounting and transaction support. The TGRP acquisition follows Aprio's additions in Philadelphia, Phoenix, Boston and Maryland, along with an expansion into Portland, Oregon. Aprio to invest in emerging AI and tech companies through Aprio Ventures. Top 25 accounting firm Aprio announced Tuesday a strategic investment program created to connect the firm with emerging solutions to enhance services for clients. Through the Aprio Ventures program, the firm said it will invest in emerging technology companies, work alongside founders, and evaluate innovative solutions with the goal of strengthening its services, empowering its professionals, and creating a better experience for clients. Since 2019, Aprio noted that it has invested in nearly 20 companies, and Aprio Ventures allows the firm to pursue more opportunities across artificial intelligence, automation, and enterprise software while gaining a broader view of the technologies shaping accounting and advisory services. Aprio's investments through Aprio Ventures will be paired with strategic and technical support, giving Aprio professionals an opportunity to help shape how the solutions work in practice and founders the support to scale their businesses, the firm said.
