Requirements
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant certification.
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program sponsored or recognized by a U.S. Department of Education-accredited educational institution.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • An active and unrestricted license to practice as a medical assistant.
  • At least one year of qualifying experience as a Certified Medical Assistant within the past two years.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to meet Government qualification, credentialing, security, and onboarding requirements and work under a personal services arrangement.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient primary and specialty care clinics under the direction and supervision of Government healthcare providers.
  • Obtain and document patient histories and vital signs.
  • Prepare patients and examination rooms.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens.
  • Perform basic diagnostic testing, including electrocardiograms and glucose testing.
  • Administer authorized injections and medications.
  • Maintain medical records.
  • Support patient education, follow-up, scheduling, and other clinic operations.
  • Provide care for newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients across family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and specialty clinics.
Desired Qualifications
  • Medical assistant program accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or the American Association of Medical Assistants.
  • Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • Recent outpatient or clinical patient-care experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
