About the job

Requirements
  • Possess an active or reinstatable TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
  • Have an active Top Secret clearance with polygraph, with CI within the last 7 years.
  • Junior-level candidates must have 2 or more years of related experience; a bachelor’s degree is desired.
  • Mid-level candidates must have 8 or more years of related experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of DevOps experience, and a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Senior-level candidates must have 12 or more years of related experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of DevOps experience, and a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Principal-level candidates must have 16 or more years of related experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of DevOps experience, and a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong Python development skills, including experience writing production-quality, maintainable code.
  • Hands-on experience building applications on top of existing large language models through APIs for commercial or self-hosted models.
  • Experience designing multi-agent or multi-step AI workflows, including prompt chaining, tool use, and agent orchestration with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom frameworks.
  • Strong prompt engineering skills and experience evaluating and validating large language model outputs.
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into existing software architectures, including RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Experience with the Amazon Web Services cloud computing platform.
Responsibilities
  • Work on the Report Authoring and Dissemination team.
  • Work closely with system and software engineers to design, prototype, and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into the existing Report Authoring and Dissemination architecture.
  • Apply existing large language models to mission workflows rather than train new models.
  • Build coordinated AI-agent and prompt solutions that automate manually performed tasks, streamline authoring and reporting workflows, and improve intelligence operations.
  • Lead the design and development of AI-driven solutions from conception to deployment, building multi-agent workflows to produce reporting and dissemination outputs; prototype, write production-quality code, and maintain deployed AI capabilities.
  • Integrate existing foundation models into the Report Authoring and Dissemination architecture through APIs and orchestration frameworks, selecting appropriate models and approaches for each task rather than building models from scratch.
  • Design, test, and refine prompts and agent instructions to automate manual tasks reliably, and decompose complex mission workflows into discrete steps for agent pipelines.
  • Develop testing, evaluation, and validation strategies for AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate handling of edge cases before outputs reach analysts and reports.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and domain experts; present and explain recommended AI approaches and discuss implementation tradeoffs and implications with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with large language model and agentic AI developments, including models, orchestration frameworks, and tooling, and identify practical opportunities to apply emerging capabilities to the system.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with retrieval-augmented generation pipelines and vector databases.
  • Familiarity with large language model observability and evaluation tooling.
  • Experience conducting exploratory data analysis on structured and unstructured datasets to prepare inputs for AI workflows.
  • Familiarity with MLOps and LLMOps practices for deploying and monitoring AI capabilities at scale.
  • Familiarity with government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
