About the job

Requirements
  • Possess an active or reinstatable Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with polygraph, including an active Top Secret clearance with a counterintelligence polygraph within the last seven years.
  • Have two or more years of related experience for the junior level, eight or more years for the mid level, twelve or more years for the senior level, or sixteen or more years for the principal level.
  • A Bachelor's degree is desired for the junior level.
  • For mid, senior, and principal levels, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of DevOps experience, and a Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Work effectively independently and on a team.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Have strong Python development skills and experience writing production-quality, maintainable code.
  • Have hands-on experience building applications on top of existing large language models through application programming interfaces for commercial or self-hosted models.
  • Have experience designing multi-agent or multi-step artificial intelligence workflows, including prompt chaining, tool use, and agent orchestration.
  • Have strong prompt engineering skills and experience evaluating and validating large-language-model outputs.
  • Have experience integrating artificial intelligence capabilities into existing software architectures, including RESTful application programming interfaces and microservices.
  • Have experience with the Amazon Web Services cloud computing platform.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop artificial-intelligence-driven solutions from conception to deployment, including multi-agent workflows in which coordinated agents and prompts produce outputs supporting reporting and dissemination.
  • Prototype, write production-quality code for, and maintain deployed artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Integrate existing foundation models into the Report Authoring and Dissemination architecture through application programming interfaces and orchestration frameworks, selecting the appropriate model and approach for each task rather than building models from scratch.
  • Design, test, and refine prompts and agent instructions to automate manual tasks reliably.
  • Decompose complex mission workflows into discrete steps for an agent pipeline.
  • Develop testing, evaluation, and validation strategies for artificial-intelligence-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate handling of edge cases before outputs reach analysts and reports.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and domain experts as a key technical liaison.
  • Present and explain recommended artificial intelligence approaches and discuss implementation tradeoffs and implications with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with large-language-model and agentic-artificial-intelligence developments, including new models, orchestration frameworks, and tooling.
  • Identify practical opportunities to apply emerging artificial-intelligence capabilities to the system.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with retrieval-augmented-generation pipelines and vector databases.
  • Familiarity with large-language-model observability and evaluation tooling.
  • Experience conducting exploratory data analysis on structured and unstructured datasets to prepare inputs for artificial-intelligence workflows.
  • Familiarity with machine-learning-operations and large-language-model-operations practices for deploying and monitoring artificial-intelligence capabilities at scale.
  • Familiarity with government-agency reporting and dissemination policies.
